Spring training question

I just picked up this game and I am really enjoying it so far. I'm going to be starting a franchise with the Brewers and I was wondering what, if any, impact spring training mode plays in a team's success.

Do injuries occur during spring training? Do players' hot/cold streaks carry over into the regular season? Do players make the big league roster based on spring training performances? I'd like to know because I am considering skipping spring training and going straight to the regular season. Have you guys played spring training games, or did you go straight to the regular sason?

Thanks in advance for answering my question(s).

Re: Spring training question

I only use Spring Training to get used to the game and my players. Outside of that, ST has no effect that I've seen. (played thru two of them)

If you're comfortable with the game, I say skip to the season and get rockin' and rollin'.

Good luck with the Brewers.

Re: Spring training question

If you skip to the season, the game AI will decide who to send down to AA and AAA. If you want to make those decisions, do them before you end spring training.

Re: Spring training question

Spring Training does not impact the regular season. Injuries, hot and cold streaks, etc, do not carry over. Spring Training is basically a little mini-season in itself, and everything starts fresh at the start of the regular season. Playing it has no benefit other than your own personal practice, and skipping it will not negatively affect you.

Re: Spring training question

Thanks for answering my questions.

I am now seven games (4-3) into my franchise with the Brewers and having a blast. From pitcher's duels to slugfests, the variety of the games I've played has been outstanding.

Every game feels like a new experience, and I can actually see myself playing a full 162-game season (no simming). One more thing ... I jacked a home run with Braun at Miller Park, and Vasgersian gave his best Uecker impression (get up, get outta here, gone!) Gotta love the little things in this game!
