How to get the game in 1080p?

I'm sorry if this a stupid question, but everything I have ever played (only movies) in 1080p just automatically played at that resolution. When I turn this game on it goes straight to 720p. How do I make it output in 1080p?

Thanks.

It is optimized for 720p so that is why it defaults to that resolution.

To force it to 1080p, you have to un-check the 720p option in the Display Settings on the PS3 before you launch the game.

I had to do it this way. For some reason, the game just looked jaggy and almost PS2'ish on my TV at 720p. At 1080p, it looks fantastic.

Interesting. I do not get this effect with 720, considering it has AA on.

same here

I get the feeling he was either running it at 480i, or playing online which eliminates anti-aliasing

unless you are playing on a 52 inch TV or bigger...or sitting 2 feet from the TV, there shouldn't really be much difference between 720p or 1080p

I play on 720p because I notice that 1080p looks a little blurry at times, especially during cutscenes.

Re: How to get the game in 1080p?

why do people always say this when is not true

that only applies when the 720p image is upscaled to 1080p like on xbox 360

the show has true 1080p therefore it looks much nicer then 720p

but since the added resolution is there the game has hicups here and there...that is why the devs said the game is optimized for 720p

you can have a stupid hand held tv and it will look better on 1080p because is true 1080p

the depth of percetion is a bit blur on 720p when compared to 1080p

becaue 1080p for this game is true...is not being upscaled

LOL, no, I actually know what the hell I'm talking about. I know the difference between 480i and 720p. And no, I wasn't playing online either. In fact, I haven't played online at all yet. I'll take pictures if you want, lol. I'm telling you, on MY television, the 1080p looks a HELL of a lot better than 720p. It's a 26" Vizio and I do sit maybe 4-5 feet from it while playing.

TJ you are correct. The game does look better in 1080p because it is true 1080p. You can have a 20 inch screen and it will look much better

The whole "it only makes a diff when you have 52 inch or more is not true. That only applies to upscaled images like on 360 which does not offer true 1080p

The only issue with 1080p for me is in yankee stadium due to their grass design

on a 20" TV you will NOT notice any difference between 720p and 1080p...the added "detail" from the extra lines of resolution will be way too small and lost in the picture
