I'm still improving, and in my experience the fundamentals are real important to success in Legend. The AI is also strategically smarter, and the batter notices repeated pitching patterns faster among other differences. Since the games you win tend to be close, putting in relievers at the right time and making every pitch count is a critical.

That said, in real life even a weak team will sometimes beat a strong team a few times, so to me what's key is the ratio of wins/losses on Legend. But it's fair to say an averaged skill player may have a challenge beating Legend just once.
Great to see u back here Brian, welcome!
So since u told us a little about the picthing side of things, can u briefly coment about the hitting on legend? what makes it harder and such?(just brielfy, lets leave the indepth stuff to the comunity leaders )
im really exited to know this since this was my major gripe last year...

thanx a lot m8

Re: Legend Difficulty Level Un-Beaten by MLB Development Team

The Game:

Anaheim(snicker) Angels with Lackey taking the mound visiting the Los Angeles Dodgers and their current ace Billingsley getting the nod.

- 1st inning:

nothing really doing, 3 up 3 down on both sides.
- 2nd inning:
Top - After getting Hunter to ground out, Billingsley came up holding his arm on the pitch Rivera singled to left - a tough blow this early in the game! Vargas came out of the bullpen and got Morales to line out followed by Napoli chacing an 0-2 fastball.
Bottom - Loney draws a lead off walk. Kemp flew out and on a very bad managerial decision (aka button fumble) Loney was thrown out trying to advance.
- 3rd inning:
Top - 3 up 3 down
Bottom - DeWitt lead off with a double to left. Pierre Struck out on a dropped 3rd strike, DeWitt advanced to 3rd. Vargas up and came through with a clutch sac bunt!
Dodgers 1 - Angels 0
- 4th inning:
Top - Kendrick lined to center. Guerreo reached on a fielders choice. Couple of fly outs end the Anaheim half of the inning.
Bottom - Martin leads off and takes a ball in the hip to get things going. Ethier singled ro right, Martin advanced to 3rd. Loney at bat and comes up with a clutch RBI single to left! Kemp, Blake and DeWitt all strike out to end the inning.
Dodgers 2 - Angels 0
- 5th inning:
Top - 3 up 3 down
Bottom - Pierre got thrown out trying to bunt for a single. Vargas drew a 3-1 walk (GASP!) then a lineout and popup end the inning.
- 6th inning:
nothing really doing, 3 up 3 down on both sides.
- 7th inning:
Top - Guerreo lead off the 7th with a first pitch BLAST to left. Hunter chased a 2-2 slider away then 2 fly outs ended the Angels half of the inning.
Bottom - Blake lead off with a deep fly out to center. DeWitt singled to center. Pierre ground out. DeWitt reached 3rd on a wild pitch. Loretta walked on a 3-2 count and Furcal brought it all to an end with a really hard hit ball lined right to Morales.
Dodgers 2 - Angels 1
- 8th inning:
Top - Hong-Chih Kuo relieves Vargas who had a stellar outing replacing the injured Billingsley. 3 up 3 down.
Bottom - Oliver replaces Lackey who's pitched a great game with some unfortunate results thus far. Matin leads off with a ground rule double to left. Ethier grounds out and Martin advances to 3rd. Loney reaches on a dropped 3rd strike, Martin scores. Two strikeouts end the inning.
- 9th inning:
Top - Kuo stays in and Figgins leads off with a single to left. Kendrick ground into a double play which brings up Guerrero... They show the replay of the bomb he hit in the 7th... I'm giddy with fear and excitement. On a 2-1 count Kuo gets him to pop up to Loney to end the game!
Bottom - X

That's right folks, Legend difficulty takes another one on the chin! Up to tonight I'd not yet made it a full game (be it distractions, a nasty blowout or simply needing to focus on something else) so this was my first complete game on legend but I've put in a solid 30 innings prior to this of Legend baseball.

Quite honestly it was one of the best games of baseball I've ever played - Strategy, luck, and small ball prevailed! An hour later and I'm still pumped! I cant stress how cool it was losing Billingsley to an arm injury so early in the game and having to really manage the pitching. Sure, it's only 3 pitchers but man it felt so important to keep checking on my boy Vargas - making sure the reliever had the stuff to keep going!

-Kolbe

P.S. - For the record, I DO NOT play with guess pitch on. This was all achieved by pressing [X] and using zone hitting. I very rarely will power swing I think I used it 4 times tonight.

Nice to see a linescore of the game Kolbe.

thanks

Just noticed the pitcher anaylsis option in the menu. Hoping for pitch counts for each pitcher to be displayed after the completion of the game.
