Maybe that's been added this year? Wishful thinking... I've resigned myself to the fact that hoping for a standard and logical slider system for hitting in The Show is like wandering around the jungles of Brazil calling out for a cheeseburger. Won't be showing up on your menu or in the options menu anytime soon.

Well, we will definitely know in roughly 2 weeks. I would even take it if it was in the option menus where you could change the coverage to small medium and large. Large being where it is currently now.

Re: @ Cubfan

it would even be nice if when a person lowered a hitters contact attribute that the coverage circle would get smaller, but even that doesn't happen.

Was just about to say something of that nature, but instead of the circle getting smaller when you edit players, the circle will get smaller the higher in difficulty you go..

Sounds like that is the case with the new difficulty level. I will take anything smaller than the beach ball size we have now!

Lowering player ratings does make a difference, just not as much as in other sports games. I know some here lower ratings by 7 ticks and stuff like that. But you don't start seeing a difference until you lower them 20-30 ticks, etc. I lower most players' default contact ratings by 50%, and I do see some difference after that.

Re: @ Cubfan

You guys probably already know this, but turning down the plate vision slider decreases the size of the circle too. Not by a large amount, but if you put that together with contact edits...

Edit: It's a REALLY small difference...for example with Soriano, it's the difference between his circle covering the edge of the strike zone (slider at normal) to just a hair beyond it (slider at full). Maybe editing the plate vision rating would matter more?

Yes it does but it needs to go further, almost to non existent.

Same here.. I simply can not wait to get 09. I also wish (believe I forwarded this to Pared) that this game and really all sports games would include a global player editor.
