There would be nothing to see if people stopped jumping down the throats of anyone who has anything remotely critical to communicate. And calling them arcade gamers and accusing them having an "I can't lose" mentality is ridiculous to say the least. Is this what happens when people get selected as SCEA's OS reps? They become apologists and defenders of the faith?

I'm laughing at my desk...baa7, you know me better than that. A rant? Ha! Not even close. The truth is what it is. THAT is why I said the age issue does not include EVERYONE in the category, but it's there and you, me or the next man cannot deny it.

Maybe a majority of the said age category who are huge regulars on this board don't qualify, but there is no doubt that the fly-by-night ones--who post once every few months and/or write things alluding to what I previously mentioned, exist.

I certainly didn't think you were in the age category with that issue...

ARCADE idiots is YOUR choice of words, NEVER mine

this topic/sidebar convo is not new. ****, I remember it was an actual thread over on the MVP side a few years back

Age catagory has nothing to do with it. Someone wondered if having a level that's unbeatable is representative of a properly programmed game. It's a valid question. But to then accuse people of being arcade gamers and turn it into their issue is wrong. I personally think having a virtually unbeatable level is great. But I understand the concern others have.

I'm sorry I was harsh -- I just don't understand why anyone with an issue around here is subjected to insults and demeaning characterizations.

and furthermore @ baa7

sorry to disappoint you, but

I WAS asked to be one of SCEA's 'guys' for some upcoming, exciting things pertaining to The Show '09, but due to my time constrants and vacation schedule, I had to decline. But all is not lost...there's always NEXT YEAR!!!

IF you're over 35 let's say...and you have children, or teens who are into the video gaming, then you will know without a doubt that perhaps some of them and their friends have a win now at all cost mentality. Again, not all, but that's the mindset of many. It's a genrational thing borne out of them not being patient like I (we) were.

My son (21 years old now) was like that a few years ago when he had to choose between NBA Live and NBA2K...a few years back, 'Live' was arcade themed---noooooo doubt about it. 2K played more like a simulation.

Trust me, there are arcade gamers. If Backyard baseball (I think that's the name) and the game last year where you could literally BLAST 600' homers is not arcade, then I don't know what is...LOL

A virtually unbeatable level is how it SHOULD BE ALL THE TIME. I never had an issue with it. But then you read the first three pages of this thread, then you undertand what made me write what I did.

I don't have an issue with you...so it's all good.

lol I hadn't heard anything from Jason yet so I think your assessment is correct. I'll play a full game today and post the stats.

On another note I noticed a little bit of panic from some members which is understandable to a degree pertaining to the what makes the mode harder than HOF.

Like I stated last week there will be an official explanation in the coming weeks on the Legend difficulty setting.

Now this is just my opinion as a gamer that's it, so don't take this as the gospel.
I have been playing the mode for a couple of months now and the first thing you will notice (as will the community day attendees) is everything is "tighter" on Legend. The timing windows for pitching and hitting are much smaller.

This makes pitching and hitting harder, because your margin for error is smaller than it is on HOF.

The other big thing for me is the pitching and hitting by the cpu. If it's an ace on the mound it might be a long day or at least that's how I feel. The top pitchers in the game so far are owning my soul. They bring it same thing with the sluggers in the game. You mess up and its over the wall. (At least that is how its been in my games.)

Hope that helps calm some nerves there aren't any 220 mph fast balls or any curve balls with a 4 foot break in them.

Thanks for the response. I am super excited for this mode. And The Show seems the best in the biz for difficulty AI.
