Re: Legend Difficulty Level Un-Beaten by MLB Development Team

like ive said before, im going to be giving this level at least 6+ hrs of my time at the event. that should give me a good series of games at least. not a great amount of time to disect much but at least it will give me a feel how the game will play on this level. IF i get my hat handed to me in those three games i will tip my hat and call the scea team my daddies.

even after i get the game when it comes out and after spring training (cause i will be playing this game on this level hopefullly through out spring training) and i cant seem to find a balance on this level i will just go back down to the old high level HALL OF FAME.

Hey i once said over on dm after losing my first game in my chise one year... "well the best i can hope to do now is 161-1." so the worst i can go in this game at the new level is 1-161 lol.

hall of fame this year was and still is a great challenge for me so since we all know they improved that, and all the levels down to rookie, everyone should have a new found challenge on whatever level they find to their comfort zone.

and remember folks there are sliders to help adjust every level of this game. some of you are making it sound as if this is the only level to the game, and that you cant "tweak" it OR any level of the game for that matter. you can make this game as easy or as tough, as arcade, or as sim as yuo want it to be.

every one just take a niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep breath and relax, if the six of us that are going to the event come home and are terrified of this new level, then start to worry lol.

EDIT!!

oh and let us not forget our every so talented and MASTERFUL slider gurus on this board that slave away hrs and hrs of their time with this game every year coming up with their very own and skilled interpratation of how they feel the game should be on whatever level the choose to make the sliders sets for.

that being said i feel that no matter what level any of us choose to play this years game on we will all find satisfaction out of it.

Let's call it like it is...you have a number of gamers here, as well as on the 2K and MVP side who are into ARCADE style play. These same guys are the ones who talk about playing a whole season with a record of 140-22. These guy are the one who for the life of 'em, HAVE to have an ALL-Star drafted team...their actual team looks NOTHING like it's real-life counterpart, These guys for the most part have the "I can't lose" mentality when it comes to video gaming.

Age...DOES play a part in this, although I don't think it can be quantified with exact numbers. But from my insight and observations, the younger the baseball gamer is, the more bells, whistles and non-important stuff they seek. We have to keep in mind, the really young ones--under 25 are from the generation where everything is has be quick, fast in a hurry. Patience is NOT a virtue with many. Of course not all in the age range have this issue, but many do. That's how this society is.

That's why I've always said that developers should put out 2 versions of the baseball games. One for those who seek realism, and one for those who seek arcade style play. This thought is similar to how NBA Live and NBA2K were analyzed a couple of years ago.

Man, I see begging for daily screen shots and I can already here the whining when they post the first one.

People, relax a bit.

Only time will tell, but obviously HOF wasn't as challenging as it could have been, and I'm really hoping that this mode delivers because I'm not much of a slider guy. Kind of like you're not much of grammar guy.
I typed that on my PS3 so it was kind've hard. I'm decent at grammar, but then again I'm from Kentucky so...... lol

Re: Legend Difficulty Level Un-Beaten by MLB Development Team

for years i was one of those "win at any cost" types. i can still remember making all star rosters in Sierra's front page baseball pro once i figured out how to "work" the computer on trades in that game. i even went so far as to make sure my back ups were upper teir at every position and including my pitching staff.

once that series died and i went to high heat 2001 i kinda went away from all star rosters as much. now i can even think of doing a fantasy draft which i used to do once i an while. i mean i will tweak my roster some but i wont go after top echilon guys. like in 08 i didnt like how my cf'er was performing at the plate but mostly in the field so i traded my back up corner outfielder for the cf'er for the pirates. def he was a very good improvement but offensively not much better than what i traded away.

but yes i have grown up a great deal since the days of FPS 1998 was the top game on the market for baseball gamers that had pc's.

No, that was a rant, intended to make some people around here feel like ARCADE idiots. Completely uncalled for.
