My experience with HOT/COLD, CLUTCH Settings is that it becomes a CHEAT for the AI. The ony feature that work really well was the Performance EQ Feature in NFL 2K5. That feature really allowed for player to play @ close to their ratings than any game I've played that uses said feature

Re: Team momentum-Hot streaks and slumps

I wouldn't mind them somehow making where team slumps/hotstreaks/performance are tied into and affect player composure.

Say a team, like the Mets(sorry Knight) has lost a 5 in a row in Septemeber and have watched their 5 game lead over the Phillies dwindle down to one. During this span, the players' composure goes from stable to rattled meaning that the moment that something negative happens in their game(error, strikeout with runner in scoring position, not scoring in a golden opportunity) they immediately become severely rattled and have the mentaility of "here we go again".

I hope that made sense, I am typing under the gun here.

Hmm. The Yankees seemed to go through that a lot last year, so I sort of get it. But baseball isn't like hockey, where five skaters can quickly go from composed to frantically chasing the puck carrier around the ice. I've never seen fielders in baseball collectively start bumbling groundballs and throws, just because the team was feeling pressure.

A feature like this walks a very fine line from being very good or very bad. I don't know, I seem to create my own streaks unintentionally based on playing but I do not know how you translate this to the cpu side.

For me it could only be translated to the CPU side and not user. It could only be based on how the user is gaming that day/week and that, to me, is not realistic.

I have to agree with you. I just think the cpu complaints would be endless especially when it's your team in a slump playing a hot streaking cpu team.

It works the way that it's implemented now.

lol...you're right, baseball isn't like hockey.

Let me elaborate a little more on this, as my intial post was vague. I'm not necessarily talking about players all collectively committing errors or striking out. I'm talking about player's ratings taking a hit for said game. And some things that could also happen from this "mental state" would be trying to make things happen(turn a double play that isn't there, trying to stretch a single into a double, swing for the fences, not getting a bunt down, misplaying a routine ball, trying to hurry a double play that you bobble the exchange from glove to hand, try to make a spectacular play that isn't needed, etc...)

Thats more along the lines of what I am talking about. And none of these things have to happen. Maybe you're team gets out of this funk during the game by making a great play or whatnot.

Re: Team momentum-Hot streaks and slumps

Hot and cold streaks are in the game now when it comes to batting but I am not sure if anything else is affected.

You're right. I think, as fun as some of all this sounds in theory, this is one aspect where "it's just a game" might fall in. I would, for example, find it hilarious if a player went through a Chuck Knoblauch type disaster were all of a sudden he can't make a routine throw to first (one of the weirdest things I've seen).

Purely psychological stuff like that might be fun for a bit, but if all of a sudden your SS or 2B you just ponied millions of dollars for can't complete a throw to first, you might end up with a controller sized hole in your TV...lol.

Anyway, I love this kind of stuff, but it just seems too hard to get implemented right.
