How will Team Payroll turn out for MLB 09?

With the economy the way it is, its sketchy on teams payrolls and how much theyll decrease. (for majority of teams) I wonder if they'll be an accurate payroll for each team, also things could change as the summer goes on...
its believed that around 5 or 6 teams will most likely be up for sale, and alot of them will be cutting down on payroll supposedly...

Is there a way of having downloadable payrolls with the rosters?
SCEA usually did a failry poor job at emphasizing payrolls in franchise and season mode so im guessing most likely the payrolls will be inaccurate...

the mlb and mlbpa will not allow for real contracts and or real team payrolls or at least thaht is what they say but ive also heard from those that play the 2k series is that they have either very close to or actual contracts and payrolls in the game. again IF this is the case it is all about how much money each company wants to pay the mlb and mlbpa to get certain things for the gmae accurate.

Yeah, I think with 2K it's correct on the years and in the general ballpark of the salary...not 100% accurate, but representative if that makes sense. I just wish that SCEA's contract were static. It frustrates me that if I start two separate franchises a guy who is on a one year 10mil contract is 7 years 15 mil in another. Dirves me nuts moe than the numbers themselves.

ooh yeah I guess if they wont allow real contracts the payrolls are kinda shot never thought of that my bad. but yeah hopefully theyll be close to the real numbers. dumb MLBPA... I wonder if legally they can make SCEA unable to have the edit salary feature as well. I would soooo restructure majority of players contracts...

I could care less about team payroll. I just wanna play the game. I don't need to manage every aspect of it.

There a lot of people that will feel that way, but A LOT of people who do franchise like to get perfect. Which is also the reason they've added things like 40-man roster, arbitration, etc.

Hooray for you, but that doesn't mean that other people don't care about it or they shouldn't re-tool it. I don't think rain should be a major concern either, but alot of others do.

Yep. Some people like some things, and other care more about different features. The more they can do all-around the better.

Rain is a big part of baseball. It affects starting pitching strategy, doubleheaders, and how the ball and players react when playing in it. Basically, it would be a noticeable gameplay enhancement.
