lol...while I don't disagree with you (at least not on overall theme) I find this post ironic. You "poo-poo" realistic contracts and in-depth management because you don't feel the need to mess with it. You then try to convince someone else that what they feel isn't important is.
Truth is, contracts are as much a part of baseball as rain (actually more nowadays

). Both can have impact on strategy, you guys just fall on different sides on which is more important.
I think that you flew by the point that was being made in a rush to post your take on rain's importance. We might not all agree on what is "important" but we don't have to. If the contracts are editable you don't have to edit them. If they make rain (and corresponding effects) an
option, you don't have to incorporate it.
I think that was basically the only point being made. Just because you or I don't find something important doesn't mean many other's won't disagree.
