I sure hope 09 will have NO online lag at all

Ive yet to play a baseball game online where it hasnt lagged. As a result most people including myself choose not to participate in online leagues for that reason.
If this issue gets Ironed out this would be unbelieveable, the thought of playing online in leagues could give me goosebumps but only if it runs smooth.

Baseball video games are all about TIMING. if a game (any game) cant deliver flawless online pitcher batter interface than it shouldnt be an option IMO...

I have run a few leagues for the Show and even with the lag, the game is a blast to play. You are right though, not only do they need to fix the lag, there are some very important key features missing that are a must to have a good online set-up. Most important being flex schedules and commissioner tools to reset games and such.

I do not enjoy playing MLB The Show online on my PS3 at all because of the lag!

And I have a very fast high Speed connection.

Other games I have played on the PS3 do not have this lag issue. So something needs to be fixed by Sony!

The lag online is aweful and I cant play baseball online that way. I am hoping they have it fixed with this years game. I also hope they bring back scanning to the managers in the dugouts....

Yea, the lag with people on base is inexcusable. More camera options and flex scheduling is also needed. Big year for them to get this done..

Yeah, the lag is atrocious in this game online.

You can be playing with two awesome connections, and it still will be bad.

Feels almost like they take two player mode and tunnel it p2p and thus why it is laggy with no true online infrastructure backbone.

The lack of camera options seems that way.

Lets hope they match MVP/2K7 how you can have a smooth experience, and your own camera angles for pitching and hitting.

i have played less than mmmm 10 games on line but it has NOTHING to do with the lag it has to due with the non customziable crap that happens. for those of us that arent as accomplished as those of you "super" players that play with every aid off and throwing meter off etc etc it is hard to play the game online with out fielding aids on and having the ability to choose our batting and pitching views etc etc... until this is hashed out the lower level players sucn as myself and others will never be able to fully enjoy the online experience... sadly it is true.

I see where youre coming from, I have a certain way I play, but still as long as theres someway to communicate your set up(text,bluetooth), have a screen showing the set up, agree on how you want to play, then EACH player hit whatever button to accept settings than go play, not just were starting pick a team were playing thats kinda dumb. unless youre in a league and already know the settings. also theres different difficulty lobbies, If I remember correctly.

I'm more concerned with playing against people who are up by two runs and then disconnect so they win the game. And people who quit games because they are losing by 5 or 6 runs. Seriously, if you start an online game finish it.

Sometimes the lag is bad in The Show, but if I could have just one online improvement, it would be the ability to replace league members when some drop out.
