Running over the catcher?

I have a RTTS guy on PS3 and I am tired of getting thrown out at home. I was curious if there was a way to run the catcher over? I've tried a few different things but they are just different slides.

The stick has to be in the straight down position. It is not automatic, the situation seems to have to lend itself to it. If you do it too late the runner just runs across the plate.
