Help Please...Show turning off!

Anyone know why The Show all of the sudden keeps turning off and returning to the PS3 main screen? I just recently got online and downloaded my first roster updates and patch. I played a complete first year franch. with the Tigers pre-online. Now I'm about six games into a franchise with the Phillies online, meaning with new rosters and patch, and I'm trying to complete a save game from a couple of weeks ago. I tried two times, it happened both times. As soon as the CPU gets me out and the inning ends it goes black and the PS3 goes back to the main screen. ANY HELP would be truly appreciated.

I had that same problem. Usually after I have been playing it a long time. I guess my PS3 gets hot and shuts down. After I let it cool down it's just fine.

Thanks for the reply. That cannot be the problem as I had just turned it on and have never had any problems with over-heating. Thanks though.

Well I don't know what else it could be. But another thing that usually happens to me after playing for a while when I go to play a game everything's black except for the players. It's really weird. It still plays just fine expect the stadium and the field are all black. The players on the other hand look just fine expect they have yellow shoes on.

Re: Help Please...Show turning off!

Ya I have also had that problem quite a few times in my Dodgers season, I'm also convinced it has something to do with how long the PS3 has been on for because it did it 3 times to me after it had been on for like 6 hrs so I took a 2 hr break and went back to it and it worked fine

A new problem I am encountering is sometimes when I go to use the in game save option and I click save game the save progress % bar will not load so I end up losing my progress when I was trying to do the smart thing and save it

I can't help you there. Never had to use the in game save option.

Re: Help Please...Show turning off!

Thanks so much for all the help. I rely on this forum for essential info as I am somewhat of a newbie. I will repeat that over-heating cannot be the source of the problem as I had just turned on the system. I'm leaning towards deleting my Show files and restarting my franchise. The real thing that's troubling me is that I never had ANY problems b4 I got online. And the main reason I never got online earlier was because I had the opinion that a lot of freezing and glitches were a result of various roster/patch downloads. Now I'm starting to really believe that. I'm kind of from the "old school", and never did I ever have a game turn off on me. It's just wrong, no matter what the cause. Currupted files suck, especially when you don't know why theyre corrupted.

INSTANT FIX......Just use the FAST FORWARD to next half inning after you get 2 outs...That way you skip over the place where it resets and you only have to SIM one out of the game

That option just saved me BIG TIME

Re: Help Please...Show turning off!

Too late. I already deleted all my Show files and restarted my Franchise. I was thinking of doing something like that but was afraid that the files were corrupt and didn't want to take a chance of further corrupting other files. I just find it a bit disturbing that this occured in the first place. Like I said, before getting online I never had any problems. Now this. Could it be from a roster/patch download. I've a feeling it is, which really sucks. I'm afraid to get too far into my franch because if that were to happen again, say 150 games in, I'd go insane!!!
