My Dream version of the Show

Imagine if you will.....if I was able to oversee the making of the new version of the Show....

Part I GM DESK

Once you started the game....you would be taken to the GM desk.
Here in the office, you have a radio and television. If you click on the t.v. monitor, you will be watching a sports show dedicated to scores-highlights and events and rumors from around you league.
If you click the radio, you will basically get the same...but you will be able to work on your GM duties while listening.
On the desk is your phone...which you would use to "call" other GM's and take calls from other GM's....they would feel you out about trades and vice versa. If interested, you would then tell him it would be easier to do at the computer and you'd be taken to a trade screen similar to the one in place. However.....the bar at the trade screen would be gone and you would simply get replies from the other GM. There would be plenty of different ways he would tell you how the negotiation is going....and it would be branching. Keep going in the wrong direction or giving him ridiculous offers and you may not even get a call back from that GM(this would keep the user from "testing"(cheating) what combination of a trade would work. He will tell you if he's looking for a veteran,youth...low salary whatever...stay within reason and he will keep talking to you. He may ask to think over a possible trade that he is thinking of accepting and tells you he would call you back in a couple of days with an answer....that would keep the tension up a bit. If you trade a player in the deal you just talked about to another team....that GM may not want to deal with you in the future.
On your PC would be the team pages. They would show the levels for each squad...the players at each level....their contracts...option years and health status. It will also have the lineup/rotation screen for each team. Also would be an upcoming FA list for each squad and an "on the table" page that would show what players are available for trade...which are untouchable and what it might take to get that player(this would be tied into a "star" system that each player would have in three catagories....actual ability/potential/ and fan power)
So if you were looking at the team page for the Yankees and wanted to trade for Robinson Cano....Brian Cashman might have ..."a 3 star 2B(ability) and a 3 star(potential) SP.....if your players add up properly(the other ratings and stats WOULD matter also).
Players would contact you about contract negotiations(in season if they are an upcoming FA) and you would negotiate the deals from the desk/PC.
Also on your PC you could see the staffs for each club and their contracts(in case you wanted to hire someone down the line)
You could view the waiver wire....and make your claims from your PC.
Also viewable would be all your scouting reports ...not only from you ML scouts(showing the other teams in the league...at all levels..) but also the college and even H.S. players you are looking to key in on for the future.

This is part 1 of a continuing series

Like it Knight, i feel we are talking 5-10 years before we get to anywhere near this "dream" scenario sadly.

I know he talks about not having time and yet he is still on here or playing with cars with his grand kids. Where are the priorities!
