Mascot Info Request!

Hi Everyone!

While you guys are enjoying MLB 08:The Show, we are hard at work on MLB 09:The Show...and one of our producers has a request. We are looking for information on Mascot specific signature moves...and any other Mascot related cheers, dances, etc. For example, the Friar ringing the bell at Petco, etc...

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks-

Chris

ps. If a moderator could sticky this thread for a while, that would be swell! Thanks!

I don't know if this is what you want, but Junction Jack for the Astros shoots T-shirts into the crowd. I don't recall any specific dances or moves though.

The reds have some cheerleaders

They also have Mr. Red and Gapper(the one that's a furry bear thing)

I'm really not sure if they do any dances, I don't remember seeing any in particular.

If you managed to put in the sausage race that they do in Milwaukee before the bottom of the 6th, I might never stop laughing

I'm with you on that!

Mr Met might make it in?!!!!
His specific move is to run a sports ticker on the bottom of the screen showing scores and info from around the league!

Too bad it's not the '70's and the baseball golf cart could drive the relief pitchers out from the bullpen to the mound! Loved that!

"Ace" This is the Blue Jays mascot, and Diamond his "Friend"(its rare to ever see her) He is usually found on the dugouts and during the 7th inning stretch.

Chris, are these signature mascot moves meant to be for this year's game or the show 2010?

The Phillie Phanatic is the best baseball Mascot around!

Here is a video of the Phillie Phanatic doing his thing!

Of course he also walks around the whole park playing with all the fans. He is known for sticking his tong out at fans and kissing them. He also stands on the Phillies dug out and tries to distract the visting teams pitcher. He also likes to tease the umps. And after the top of the 5th inning he rides onto the field with his little red ATV. He also likes to smash the visting teams helmet with some kind of tool. He also shoots hot dogs into the stands.

I bet you can find videos of the other Mascots on youtube also.

I also hope to see the Ball girls and ball boys this year as well. The Philies only use pretty Ball girls .

The Phillie Phanatic is a large green monster-like mascot for the Philadelphia Phillies. Zoologically, he seems derived from an anteater. One of the earlier major league mascots following the San Diego Chicken, the Phanatic made his furry, green debut on April 25, 1978. Bill Giles, chairman of the Phillies, was among the Phanatic's originators and he is owned and managed by the franchise. Early on, the Phillies did not hold the trademark to the Phanatic and as he gained in popularity, the Phillies were forced to pay a sizable amount to buy the rights to use his image. He replaced earlier mascots, Philadelphia Phil and Philadelphia Phyllis.

The Phanatic often performs skits prior to the game and between early innings. These may include audience participation or a plant on the field. There is also a female Phanatic that sometimes appears with the original.

In the late innings of the game, he will stand atop the Phillies dugout hexing opposing players, dancing with fans between innings, or dumping a giant tub of popcorn over opposing fans. His feud with Tommy Lasorda was legendary as the Phanatic used to ride over a dummy Lasorda with his ATV. He usually departs after the 8th inning..

The Phillie Phanatic was originally played by Dave Raymond and is now primarily played by Tom Burgoyne.

This is great news so I guess this means Mascots will be in MLB The Show 09?
