Playing Online sucks!

Every other game I play online, I get get through the game without any lag. With this game for some reason, I have to quit every game because the lag is so bad. Anyoneelse experiencing this? Any way to fix this?

Unfortunately I have to agree with you. I think the problem is with people with great broadband and people with slower connections. I notice the game compensates for fastballs and curves differently when you're not evenly matched speedwise.

It's almost like blind swinging when you're at bat with someone who has a slower connection.

I'm still willing to play though. I just wish it was better at compensating for different speeds.

has any one ever realized that broadband IS cable and all else isnt... so if your playing on a cable line and you have someone playing on a DSL (phone) line that it will be differ... this is why they say right on the box... BROADBAND ONLY!!!

So maybe they should set it up for dsl vs dsl only and cable conn. vs cable connec only that would def help... have it in your settings what set up you have so that you can play only those people who have the same connection as you have... mmmmm makes sense to me

It was the exact same as last years online. Personally, I think baseball is probably the toughest game to play online out of any sport as it involves the most timing out of all sports.

Both DSL and Cable are Broadband services. FACT.

The FCC defines broadband service as data transmission speeds exceeding 200 kilobits per second (Kbps), in at least one direction: downstream or upstream.

And, cable isn't that fast. Fiber is much faster (for example, Verizon FiOS). I live in the chicagoland area and the highest cable speed offered is 6mbps, the highest DSL speed is also 6mbps. So, again, how is cable broadband and DSL not broadband? And if you compare your so-called "fast broadband speed" to the majority of other developed countries broadband services, they're moving at a rabbit's speed while you're moving at a turtle's speed. The US pretty much has dial-up service compared to Japan, Korea, and several European countries. Heck, Canadian has faster speeds than we do.

Wow, talk about uninformed.

Broadband is anything that is considered "high speed" internet, which includes DSL and Cable. Why do people get so hyped up about things they know nothing about? I would suggest doing some research about broadband internet services before boldly trying to tell people how it is.

If the U.S. could ever catch up with the super-high-speed connections that a lot of other countries enjoy, online play would be so much better.

I play wireless on a 3 meg DSL connection and have very minimal lag in my games.

Yeah but I think in a round about way, his point was that more than a few people buy the 1.5 service for less money than the 6 meg service. I agree with saving a few bucks but slower DSL does interfere with gameplay.
