A lot of this is going to vary depending on teams, the stadiums, etc. But here are a few examples:

Both games were played @ Houston, with it's short porch in LF.

Freel hits a rocket into LF (not a hard grounder but a pretty well hit ball) that gets past Lee and rolls to the wall. Lee grabs it and throws to the relay man who fires it to second and Freel slides, beating the tag. Without the tweaks, this is a single. No doubt in my mind.

Later in the game Tejada rips one to left that lands almost right ON the line near the warning track. Dunn hustles over, bare hands the ball off the wall-hop and throws it to 2nd -- Tejada slides in safe with a double. It was close -- but he beat the throw.

Without the edits, I think both of these are either singles or the runners are thrown out. Both, to me, looked liked doubles the moment they were hit.

This is admittedly a very small sample (2 games) but right now I am focusing on:

Batting Contact (slider)
Pitch Speed (slider)
Baserunning Speed (slider)
IF throwing Speed (slider)
Outfielder Reaction (Attribute)
OF Fielding -- more important than I thought (Attribute)
OF Arm Strength --another vital one I think (Attribute)

This might end up blowing up later on, but man...really liked that two game sample.
Bill, what kind of adjustment are you making to "fiedling ability" to give you the two game results that you mentioned??? How far did you go with these??

I don't want to derail or clutter it...sorry.
I will PM or start another thread(maybe a better idea) anything about edits.

I'd be in favor of a new thread so that we don't have two or more conversations going on to clutter up what the Sony guys are doing.

(I did just play another game against Houston; a 4-2 loss with a two team total of 4 doubles, a homer, 14 strikeouts, 4 walks, a potentially critical 9th inning error on a routine grounder followed up with a bases loaded save in the 9th. An absolutely brilliant game of video baseball. These edits are making a big difference, for me at least.)

Re: AI Follow-up Questions...ie The Boys are back in town....

Here is a question that hopefully isn't giving up any trade secrets or anything...

Is the AI programmed to be reactive to the player's tendencies? I know some have issues with lack of walks when batting...

Here's an example: If I'm playing a game and I never swing... EVER... will the CPU understand that I'm not swinging and begin throwing more strikes as a result... or will it continue with it's AI given the batter, the pitcher, the count, ratings... and so forth?

Also, there are still some users who feel they have too much control with the meter when pitching. Is there someway to make the pitching model reactive to the situation.... IE the meter moves faster as a pitcher ties and so forth... similar to when they are pitching from the stretch?

Q&A here is over so feel free to ask by PM. I don't have the time to answer all messages so it might be a week if I do.

I think your question is answered in previous comments, though not to that degree.

I'm not getting that.
I think he's just saying that this particular Q&A is done and he's got a ton of work to do(his real work!) so PM him and he will get back to you as soon as he can.

To followup on this issue. I am a ps2 owner, and the no error ( I've yet to see one error, and I've played probably 10 games, and managed about 15) bug is real. I've gone back to Mlb 07 and had a draft ,to try and get my baseball fix. (btw, I've adjusted the error freq. sliders all the way up, to no avail)

He said before the Q&A session started that it would only last a week or so and that he is busy trying to answer our questions and work on '09 at the same time.

This Q&A is for sincere forum participants, and I'm alarmed at the spike in radical posts in many of the forums recently.

The tone of some of these messages is becoming hostile, not to mention disruptive to this thread. Face to face I don't think we'd have this communication problem, and in the future it's easier to have Q&A by PM to prevent trolling and intentional thread hijacking.

I gave some people the benefit of the doubt in assuming they misread my posts, but it's clear a few knew what I wrote and had ulterior motives to make me their personal messenger or scapegoat. Attacking me because you can't get access to someone else from the team is childish. Anyone is more than welcome to start a new thread to vent your frustrations, and I think that's a healthy and valuable discussion in moderation.

In any case the experience was more than worth it, and I stopped by to request some followup info by PM. Some discussions ended as people were getting more data, and I look forward to hearing their results. I have some followup questions of my own by PM as well.

Thank you!
I am very sorry for I made a mistake as to the actual intention of this thread. I though you wanted to have a interaction with your fanbase about there questions and impressions of The Show so you can continue to make the greatest baseball game on earth.

I in no way intended to attack you, or the company you work for.

I own a small service company and I always welcome criticism as a opportunity to improve my buisness model.

It would be very easy for me to come here and tell you what a great game you have made as that is very true.

However I felt there would be more to gain in this discussion by focusing on the flaws contained within the overall greatness.

I would hope that the comment of "I have nothing to gain from posting here other than the satisfaction of helping others." does not mean that you value very little a open an honest discussion with your consumers in regards to product improvement.

I am very sorry if my comments upset you as I am a huge supporter of your product and have not only myself purchased it faithfully, but have opened the eyes of many who where huge fans of that "other" baseball game.
