First, I edited all of my players attributes so that their durability is maxed out. Then... I bought those greedy bastards a charter jet. And last but not least, I bought the team a new aerobic room because it says that it helps the players recover from fatigue faster.

Now that I'm ten games into my franchise none of this seems to matter. My starting catcher has already had two games off yet he is a about 20 percent energy. Infact, everyone is at 20 percent other than the center fielder and SS and 2B. And the only reason those guys aren't at 20% is because I gave them all a game or two off. Regular position players should not need a game off every five games just to stay at a half way decent energy level. Maybe the catcher.. but even the catcher shouldn't always get this many days off.

I've also noticed that the other teams are sitting their starters out just as much, if not more often than I am. I just played a 4 game series against the Rockies and Holliday only started the first two games. The third game he didn't come in at all... and the fourth game he only came in for a couple of innings because he was pinch hitter.

So does anyone have any other ideas or maybe know something I'm doing wrong. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.
all of the durability sliders need to be turned up for each player while they are fully rested. The best way to do it would be to edit the roster before you start your franchise/season. For example, Josh Hamilton's durability was at 0 before I fixed it. Hopefully SCEA will fix this problem in the roster update. The players will still get tired, but not as quickly.

I'm pretty sure I did this. Well.. I started my new franchise, skipped the spring training, edited the durability, bought the charter plane, and then come my first game everybody was at full energy. So I don't think that's the problem.

I'm guessing you play as the Braves....Nice how you have a FOURTEEN GAME STRAIGHT schedule to open up the season...however...
I edited everyone up as explained.
I rested everyone except Escobar(I pinch hit for him one game I played through)...he was the only one that didn't "need" it.
Games...
Escobar 14
Jones 13
McCann 13
Diaz 13
Anderson 13(Franceour got hurt)
Kotsay 12
Johnson 12
Texiera 12
Infante 10
Franceour 5(injured)

So while I believe that every player should be able to go those fourteen games in a row without rest....that's not too bad....and I only rested those guys because they were just below a half bar(I usually would play them in that situation)
Like I said earlier...while I don't ignore the fatigue bar......a player really has to be gassed(near zero) for me to rest him

One thing...I set my TRAINING and REHAB to CPU.....that may be something...what setting do you use for that?

I appreciate the help man. And yea.. the 14 games straight to start off the season definitely doesn't help things, lol. I have training and rehab set to manual, so I'll try changing that to cpu to see if that helps things. I was getting about the same amount of games from guys as well. Which as you said, it really isn't that bad. My starters may not be able to start quite as many game's as their real life counter parts but I should be able to keep things pretty realistic. I'm also going to go ahead and edit the durability for the rest of the league, so that the other teams aren't constantly cycling their starters out. Thanks again for the help.. and if you figure anything else out that helps be sure to let us know.

Re: FIXES AND WORK AROUNDS

I know it slows down the fatigue for season mode. I can't speak for franchise. That might be different.

Re: FIXES AND WORK AROUNDS

I don't know if this constitutes a 'workaround' but...

I'm on PS2 and cannot edit attributes for FA's or the Minors before starting a franchise...

I didn't want 'Reggie Stocker' popping up on a MLB team (not because he represents Bonds, b/c he's fictitious and unecessary), so I signed him to my 'Nats chise for about 490k for one year, edited him to a very poor player and released him...

I cut Dukes to make room and then resigned him...he had the lowest cap hit involved...

Re: FIXES AND WORK AROUNDS

To those of you with the ps2 version:

You can't use #1 workaround from this thread. I had last years version & also recently bought this years The Show & this isn't possible. You have to go into "Franchise" mode to get to the AAA & AA rosters. You can go to the "Inactive" list from the regular rosters to view the extra 15 players for each team.

You can use the "callups/send-downs" to be able to edit those guys but not any more than that. Also, in order to edit FA's you need to sign them onto some team before being allowed to do edit them. I haven't had time to check into some of the other workarounds but I'd be willing to bet that they will be different on the PS2 this year too. Thanks!

PS3 has those extra 15 inactive slots as well. In Spring Training Im using that as a tool to place fatigued pitchers.
