I believe that happens for Mark Teahen as well (I edited that in my roster tweak).

Amazing. Everything people want so far is cosmetic or just little things.... I'm trying to take that in and it's hard to fathom.

Madden is an AI nightmare... it's not football, doesn't even come close to representing it, feels like mush, and is just plain bleh.

NBA2K, easily the best basketball game and has been is an absolutely phenomenal game. However, AI is still far away (though very good), and there's many little bugs or improvements that can be made to make it feel like basketball.

Then there's this game.... a masterpiece that almost perfect represents the sport... a true representation of how a game looks, feels, sounds, and simply just IS. There just aren't gameplay gripes like the other big sports. amazing.

Perhaps baseball is easier to represent, but look the 2K baseball series... ugh....

Thanks for a great game designers... now where's my batting practice?????????????????
At first I thought you were saying that there ARE issues with gameplay, but that others don't find that important. Then it seemed that you were amazed that the gameplay is so good that no one is complaining about it. Which is it?

Personally, the gameplay in this game is GREAT when it's two living, breathing human beings playing it. Otherwise, it's just a very dry game. The commentary is OK, the crowds look bad (like looking at Atari graphics), there aren't enough walks without having to tweak the sliders to the point that other aspects are negatively impacted. Visually, in general, the game looks really nice.

You are so far from the truth you must have not played atari because at no time in any game i have played have i thought, "man i feel like im playing atari" this just goes to show that no madder what game comes out some people will not be happy. I think just so you don't think about ending your life, you should stop playing sports games. If you want something to complain about go play 2k8.

Re: FIXES AND WORK AROUNDS

Couldnt find the previous discussion on API since the search engine cant handle it being such a small word so I will ask my question here. It clearly says that API Default is enabled only in Rookie and Veteran difficulty yet here I am on All-Star with it on default and its on, is there a way to get rid of this that anyone is aware of? I dont want to use it at all but when my pitchers confidence vanishes I dont want to turn this on and then off everytime just to get it back. This has to be some sort of screw up I would imagine since its pretty clear in the description and doesnt work the way they describe it.

According to the description default should have it off, atleast thats what I thought too. The only way for it to be off was to use the setting "off". I haven't seen any fix around this, unless you want to turn off the individual pitches confidence, that solved my problem.

Re: FIXES AND WORK AROUNDS

I guess I will just have to deal with it then. I initially wanted API on because it gave a bit more realism and last year they had ratings for catchers ability to call a game so having a guy that could call a good game was sometimes better then having a guy who didnt but could hit lights out. I went through the attributes for catchers this year and apparently there is nothing there to do with calling a game so its pointless, and I enjoy calling my own game anyways so it works for me so far.

FYI, Mr. Crazy, I've been playing video games since BEFORE the ATARI games. Remember when Pac-Man first came out? What about Donkey Kong? You do remember, right? Just because a game isn't AS BAD AS 2K8 does not not exempt it from criticism. The last time I checked, criticism is the ONLY way these games will get better. Unless the developers know what needs to be fixed, it won't be fixed (whatever you want to be fixed). Sure, marketing will implement all sorts of gee whiz features that don't amount to a hill of beans, but who are we kidding here? Furthermore, I don't think it is your place to go around judging who's suicidal and who isn't. Take care.
