Re: FIXES AND WORK AROUNDS
Okay guys.....as we all know...nothing is perfect....here is a list of things that are "not quite correct" in the game...but fixable.
1.NOT BEING ABLE TO EDIT/VIEW AAA OR AA PLAYERS FROM ROSTER EDIT PLAYER SCREEN.
.....-Big thanks to RobNY on this one(friggin' LIFESAVER bro!)...and it's quite simple. Simply go to FRANCHISE...choose NEW 1P....let it start to the team screen and then back out of the franchise....now as long as you don't shut off the game....you can LOAD rosters....and see and edit the AAA and AA players. Nice!
2.DISAPPEARING CONFIDENCE FOR PITCHES WHEN GOING TO BULLPEN
.....-Simply press the R2 button and the confidence for each pitch is back! Only works with API on DEFAULT or ON.(Thanks to IdaCollGuy)
3.HOW TO GET INJURIES WHEN HAVING CPU ROSTER CONTROL ON
.....-Some guys liked it when the glitch of injuries still occurred with CPU ROSTER CONTROL ON from last year....well someone found that if you start the franchise with it on....then simply load your sliders/options later...it brings the injury level you have in the save....into your franchise.(I haven't checked this one out myself yet...and I'll post who found it later)
4.PLAYERS GETTING TOO FATIGUED TOO QUICKLY
....-This isn't a bug as much as a combo of poor design(no separate durability and injury attribute) and poor attribute input. If you got a player who simply tires too quickly...it's because his DURABILITY ATTRIBUTE(not a slider) is too low. Raise it and he'll be ready to play like you're paying him a million dollars(You're paying him much more than that!.....the slacker! )
5.RETIRED NUMBERS(I'll have to check that this fix still works as last year)
.....- Someone mentioned they couldn't get a player to wear #10 on the Nats....that's probably because Le Grande Orange wore it for the 'Spos and it's retired....okay what you do is this go to the editor....edit to the number you want..in this case #10....save it.(It will save as 10, but when you go to play...it will give him the next available number)....go back into the editor and change the number either 1 number up or 1 number down ...doesn't matter.....AND THEN BACK TO #10....BACK OUT of the screen(DO NOT SAVE AGAIN)...now when you go into the game he should be wearing #10. Works for any team(Yankee fans...you can get your self created legends to wear #3 and #4!)...
6.LINEUPS/PITCH ROTATIONS GETTING RE-ARRANGED WHEN MAKING ROSTER MOVES FOR CPU WITH CPU ROSTER CONTROL
.......(Thanks to Jim416 for this one!)...For those of you who play with it ON so that you can control other teams callups/send downs/lineups/pitching rotations, etc. This is with CPU ROSTER CONTROL ON.
The lineup glitch is still there. Was not corrected.
Example: You control the Padres as your team during the season. You want to change a pitching rotation for the Yankees. Currently Britton in on their ML roster, but you want Bruney, who is in AAA. If you go to ROSTER CONTROL and then the Yanks and use CALLUPS/SEND DOWNS to do this it will completely rearrange the Yankees batting order (all 4 lineups). You'll then have to go thru each batting order and readjust them.
The workaround is the same as last year. Do the callup/send down thru the FA list. Here's how. Go to PLAYER MOVEMENT instead of CALLUPS/SEND DOWNS.
Go to PLAYER MOVEMENT for the Yanks.
I use Reggie Stocker as my go between. He's in FAs.
Move Britton for Stocker (this puts stocker on the Yanks, putting Britton in FAs)
Then Britton for Bruney (putting Bruney in the FA list)
Then Bruney for Stocker (puttting Stocker back on the FA list).
Check your lineups, they will be okay. Once you learn this workaround it's a breeze. If you don't do it this way it will screw up your batting orders, all four lineups, even though it's just pitchers you're moving.
Now, for some reason it won't happen with the team you control during the season, in this case, the Padres. So you can do the moves thru callups/send downs. The glitch applies to other teams.
7. I CAN'T CREATE A PLAYER IN MY FRANCHISE
..........You won't have the create-a-player function in your FRANCHISE mode.
So, just add 25 "Joe Randoms" to your roster set before your franchise. They will wind up in the FA pool and you can use them to create players during FRANCHISE mode.
8. HOW TO "STOP" THE AUTOSAVE FROM COMPILING MULTIPLE SAVES(this is a minor annoying one...good pickup by zephyr13)
........Ok... I think I found a work around for autosave when you want to back out of a game because of CPU's stupid uniform selection.
Allow for one pitch at least.
Go to exit/save. Select in game save.
Save the file as a NEW IN GAME SAVE.
You will return to the main franchise menu, from where you started or you last loaded. Simply delete the in game save file and restart the game as if you never had in the first place.
Just make sure you don't overwrite your FRANCHISE save file. Thanks to zephyr13 for this one!
9. I WANT TO CHANGE THE CPU LINEUPS AT THE LINEUP SCREEN BUT I DON'T HAVE A SECOND CONTROLLER
.........Thanks to bcruise for this one..It seems as though some(most?) USB controllers will work just fine for the Cross Media Bar and any non-in game screens(like the lineup screen!) in The Show(and any other game)....so if you have one for your PC laying around or can get one cheap....looks like you don't have to drop the cash for a PS3 controller to fix those pesky CPU lineups.
10. HEY WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STAT OVERLAYS?!
Thanks to bcruise for this one.....
FIX FOR BROKEN SEASON OVERLAYS (requires season restart)
Here goes...it has to do with playing a quick or exhibition game in the same playing session in which you start a season. As you know, the game has all kinds of stats to show during exhibition games. But...if you go to start a brand-new season in that same session - while the game is still on, those stats will stay in the game's memory and show up during the other modes, where they often highlight a zeroed out stat and are basically meaningless.
The fix? Real simple. After playing an exhibition game, quit the game (back to the XMB)and restart it again. THEN start your franchise/season/rivalry. The quick game stats will not be there, and I believe the real tracked stats will start showing up after a few games (sample size and all that)
Just so you guys can see what it is, here's a step by step....
(Note: THIS IS THE BUG, NOT THE FIX! The fix is right above this!)
1 Start a quick game with any team(I'm going to use the Cubs for the purpose of showing the exact stat overlays).
2. Observe the first inning, and the overlays that show up for each hitter (In the Cubs case, Soriano's HR's are highlighted). These stat tidbits are now loaded in the game's memory, and will be stuck there until you exit to the XMB (don't do that yet).
3. Exit the game back to the main menu.
4. Start a season (franchise or rivalry will be the same as well) with the same team you chose in quick game. The options don't matter - just get to the schedule screen. Select the first game on the schedule (ST or reg. season - doesn't matter).
5. Watch the first inning - you'll see the same overlays you saw in quick game. Only this time, the stats are correctly zeroed. Which means the overlay is highlighting a stat that isn't there. That's the bug.
6. At this point, if you save your season (autosave too), your season is borked. Those overlays will be broken for the duration, because the game loaded the faulty ones and saved them. Load it up and run the next game, and any others - you'll see the same thing every time.
The fix above prevents this from happening. When you don't play a quick game before starting the season, those old stats are never loaded. And when you save your new season, it will be locked - no amount of quick games you play can screw that file up.
Like I said, I saw this last year, and it's the same exact bug with the same exact fix. Enjoy!
I'll keep editing this post to keep up with things we find fixes for.
I'm working on the OF not using the cut-off man so much(and I may be on to something! .....
Let's try and keep this on the front page to help out our fellow Show players.
-----PS2----Here is one for the PS2 owners who cannot edit minor leaguers or FA's before starting a franchise. Of course this works on the PS3 too, but you can do it before franchise using the AAA-AA Roster Editor workaround. Thanks to KingV2k3 for this one.
HOW DO I EDIT FREE AGENTS?
...................I'm on PS2 and cannot edit attributes for FA's or the Minors before starting a franchise...
I didn't want 'Reggie Stocker' popping up on a MLB team (not because he represents Bonds, b/c he's fictitious and unecessary), so I signed him to my 'Nats chise for about 490k for one year, edited him to a very poor player and released him...
I cut Dukes to make room and then resigned him...he had the lowest cap hit involved...
