Re: The Extremely Early Wish List Thread

Good list, I would add a few things:

1) the ability to play any game going on that day during Franchise mode (like in Madden). For example, if I have a Red Sox franchise and one day I would like to play the Yankees/Rays game, I should be able to. This would be awesome and add some variety to Franchise mode.

2) Rain delays, drizzle, cloudy days, sunny days, temperature changes, etc.

3) More sliders functionality... as it is, hitting is too easy. I've adjusted and tweaked the sliders like crazy, and it plays well, except my team average is .330, I'm last in the league in strikeouts and walks...

4) The hot and cold feature is good, but it needs to be redone... as it is, players get hot or cold too quickly, and pitchers lose their confidence level too quickly. It's not as realistic as it could be with a little tweaking. Also, defensive plays should factor in, meaning, if a player makes an outstanding catch to end an inning and he's up the following half inning, he should still be a little fired up from it.

5) In terms of editing batting stances and deliveries, I always thought it would be cool if there was a way to mix and match bottom halves and torsos... so, for example, say I want to edit a player's stance, and J.D. Drew's legs are perfect but Carlos Guillen's top half is perfect. it would be cool if I could take the parts from each and have the complete stance.

6) 2-tone bats!

7) double headers!!

Just to add to that, the pitcher should be fired up too that he has good support.

I'm not sure what this even means.

What is "fired up" that he has good support? Are his ratings improved? Are there any studies that show this actually occurs?

I'm sure this has been said before, but they need to add customization options like in 2k8. The gameplay is wonderful, the graphics are great, but the things like shin guards and catchers equipment look like afterthoughts. I really like the cloth movement, editable jersey and pant styles, and the equipment (shin guards, elbow guards, catchers' gear) from 2k8.

Daylight turning to nighttime. Shadows that move as the sun moves.

Definitely collusion detection could be better, the balls go right through the bases if its hit to them, and players should be able to collide like old Triple Play Baseball games. Other than that I cant really complain with whats on the list

There probably are studies that would show that pitchers tend to be more confident when there is run support, and that they tend to be more aggressive around the plate. Realistically, I think if you're "in the zone" (wouldn't that be similar to "fired up"?), you're control is going to be better and you're going to get more batters out with the K. Not personal experience, just years and years of watching the real thing.

Yeah this is what I mean.

Re: The Extremely Early Wish List Thread

I think the game is great the way it is but to justify a The Show 09 purchase I would like to see,

1. Pitchers all seem to throw the same and have similar results - maybe something to differentiaite the pitchers.
2. Fielders seem to take forever to get the ball in - Would like to see fielders pick up the ball and get it in (or to cut-off) quicker. They always seem to take the hop step instead of just gunning it in (this could cause a higher percentage for error)
3. Weather, Dynamic Day/Night transition
4. Have the fans moving around (walking in the isles), have players sitting in the bullpens.

5. (this is a stretch and depends on the PS3 breakaway controller rumor) Have a pitching/fielding mode that utilizes the breakaway gamepad. It seems like it tracks movement so you as a player would have to reach down on grounders or put your hand up on pop-flys and since the gamepad is breakaway and you have one in each hand you would have to lift the correct hand for lefties/righties in the field. It would be pretty interactive/fun.
