actually its called the "foul pole" because half of it is in foul territory, that's why the umpires look to see where the ball hit

I believe that's false. They look to see if it hit the pole or if it went in front of it or behind it. Anything that hits the pole is a home run, assuming it's above the home run line.

???

A limit/boundary can be inclusive or exclusive. In this case, the boundary (foul pole(yes, it is a foul pole) is exclusive.

Foul pole is inclusive, yes? I don't know which term you are using, but if a ball his the foul pole, it is fair. It is an extension of the baselines for which the same is true.

Speaking of foul poles...

I was just playing Opening Day of the 2011 season with my starting pitcher. The second batter of the game is Chad Tracy and he hits a long, high fly ball down the right field line...it's drifting foul as it nears the foul pole...the first base umpire signals foul...the ball goes foul...but Matt calls it a HR off the foul pole... so as I sit there incredulous...I go to the replay and you can see the shadow of the ball curve foul at the last moment...the ball never hits the pole...and it's clearly foul...but the cheap *** game gives Tracy a HR.

Yes, the entire 'Foul Pole' is in fair territory. A ball hitting any part of the pole (above the fence) is a home run.

I did a double switch the other day and the player I subbed in (Nomar) came up to bat with a glove still on his hand.

What happens is that the game stops right at the end of the game where the injury occurs and won't advance to the next day as it normally would. It doesn't show a score in the game that you just completed.

INSTEAD of backing out, select the next game in your schedule and choose to PLAY it. The game will then complete the 'simulation' to the next day and I think everything is fine. You don't have to play that next game...once it reaches the pitcher selection screen you can then back out and deal with your rosters, or save your progress.

I think?
This bug sucks. I just had a pitcher get injured in my last game and I cut the game off after I exited back to the calendar screen (after it had auto saved). Turned my PS3 on later and noticed it didn't save the result of the game, but my pitcher was still injured. Now I'm going to play the game again and all my players are super fatigued. So I lost the win, the pitcher, and now I'm gonna have to use a lot of subs to get my players rested again. Stinks, but I have a huge lead in the regular season, so whatever.

Thanks for the tip about advancing to the next day after that happens. I'll be sure to do that next time.

*sifts backwards through 78 page thread to see what other stuff you guys have come across

I thought this was common knowledge to anyone who has ever seen the game of baseball......why else would they put a large yellow pole down each line at the stadium? Obviously the ball is fair if it hits any part of the pole.....and obviously the pole is completely in fair territory.....

We know, we were just confirming that because someone said it was half in and half out. We corrected him, so you don't need to correct us.
