**MLB 08: The Show (All versions) Bugs/Glitches Thread**

Scary glitch just now.

I've been struggling big time on offense. I think I had 29 HRs through 41 games. Anyway, I'm finally busting out at Philadelphia. I hit four homers and led 12-6 in the top of the 9th. Brayan Pena led off with a single and Kelly Johnson was up to hit. It went to a replay of Johnson's pinch-hit homer in the 7th. And the game froze. I sat there terrified that my big breakout game was about to be all for naught. I waited for a minute and hit several buttons on the controller, including start. Finally, it showed a replay of Yunel Escobar striking out in the first inning, but a weird slo-mo replay. When it came back, Martin Prado was standing at the plate, but hitting left-handed. At this point, I quickly do an in-game save and exit. When I reload, it comes back with Johnson back at the plate. I finish out my 17-6 win without incident.

The only thing I can figure is my mass substitution threw the game off. I had given Chipper, McCann and Johnson the day off. I had Tex at first, Prado at second, Infante at third and Escobar at short. Francoeur in right, Kotsay in center and Diaz in left. Tex, Frenchy and Escobar were all low on stamina, so when I got the big lead I put in Johnson, Anderson and Thorman. Johnson went to second, which meant Prado moved to third and Infante to short. I put Anderson in center and moved Kotsay to right.

In my Giants franchise going against the Phillies. In the 8th inning in a tied game, the cpu takes out Ruiz and subs in Coste and they also subbed in another player for Feliz. Problem was, they subbed in Coste. So now Coste is playing 3B and C.

Fast forward to the next inning and it's Coste's turn to bat, the game suddenly freezes. You can hear the background noises (like PA announcer and crowd) but the screen is stuck in place. Had no choice but to sim the remainder of the game (which I lost).

I saw this once during Spring Training. What I did was change control to the CPU team and make a proper substitution for them. The game progressed normally after that.

I saw two interesting 'glitches' last night:

1) Vernon Wells led off the 9th inning and struck out on a check swing. The announcer said "And that's the ball game"...but it was only the first out.

2) At the end of the game it was showing John Smoltz as the Player of the Game, and they said "The Bulldog, Tim Hudson" was the Player of the Game. He didn't even get in the game and is scheduled to start the next game for ATL.

Discovered another bug yesterday. I hit a three run jack and after the HR replay my player was standing on first but the runs were added. Pretty strange glitch. Anyone else have this happen?

I had heard of it happening, and then it happened to me in the last game I played. I drew a walk then hit a 2 run HR and when the next guy stepped to the plate there was a runner at first. Odd.

Had a batter draw a walk on a 3-1 pitch with 2 outs, but the runner on 2nd tried to steal third and was thrown out. The next inning, the same better lead off the inning.

It has been covered probably;y but was there any fix for this. It happened to me twice in the same game.

I'm a noob to this game, as I found walmart's gift card deal reason enough to finally pick up a ps3 for the show, and would like to know this as well. What do you guys do about your franchises in these situations?

That's because the walk doesn't count if a runner is thrown out stealing a base, that he is not forced to advance to, that ends the inning. He is still considered the legal hitter at the plate when the caught stealing occured and leads off the next inning.

That's not a glitch.



A glitch, or game play oddity, is that I am seeing the catcher try to make the catch on pop ups between the pitcher's mound and either third base or short stop and also on foul pop ups right near first or third base as well. I even saw the catcher drop a pop up at second base. Those should not be happening.
