The issue is only with home runs. Other game-winners would only allow the game winning tally to count.

Hmm, I thought they only patched the online issues last year? I don't recall many of the Franchise bugs being worked out at all. I could be wrong.

I'm not entirely sure what exactly was patched, but I thought some stuff besides online was patched. I should probably just shut up because I don't really pay close attention to this stuff.

I don't remember any franchise stuff patched last year either. Not saying it didn't happen, but I also didn't encounter any bugs last year as well.

I have yet to "take the plunge" and buy a PS3. With all the talk about MLB the Show 08, I pretty much a couple weeks ago decided to get the hardware simply to play this game. Now, I am having second thoughts when I hear about scoring errors, stat tracking, etc.

My opinion here - It seems like these game companies, devlelopers, etc focus so much energy, time, and financial resources on what I will call "eye candy." I am not that concerned that the left field bleacher seats at a given stadium are the right shade of gray. I am however when basic baseball scoring fundamentals are missed. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the visuals as much as the next person..but get the game right.

If you would have asked me before I read what you are reading on here Id say you were safe and go ahead get the PS3 cuz this game will be perfect. I would say if you want a perfect gameplay baseball game buy a PS3 and get MLB 07 the Show. Thats whats stupid they had it right.

Look....it sucks....but it's just a bug. They get through...
Too bad it got through, but it did.
We have 3 or 4 pages on it already...I think we've covered it IMO.
It's NOT the end of the world....and it may be able to be patched.

This is regarding the pitcher ENG in game not reflecting their actual ENG. Thought I would post this PM I received from someone named jwilkersSony. Do mods verify people representing themselves as SCEA employees?

It looks like you'll have to do that again. All of my relievers have full ENG in the bullpen when I know that they shouldn't. What's weird is all of my starters show full ENG except for my starter from my last game. The really weird thing is that he's only missing a tiny piece of his ENG bar (~5%) when he should be gassed.

If we patch this will be fixed. It was fixed just too late for submission.

No, no it isn't. At least it was not the case in this instance. In my game, there was a cutscene which followed the homer that showed Chavez being mobbed at the plate by his teammates. Bobby Crosby, who had been on 2nd base, had just crossed the plate before that with the actual winning run. I don't know if the issue is maybe tied to the walkoff home run cut scene sequence, but there is a problem with the way the scoring is handled on walkoffs. Unless you hit a solo walkoff shot, I suppose.

I'll be honest. It isn't that big of a deal to me. Yeah, it sucks and it is something that should not be there, but stat accuracy and things like that are not the highest on my priority list. I am the last person who is going to spend time doing tedious (imo) exercises like simming seasons, playing out 10 years plus of a franchise, etc. etc. I think they are cool things to have for the people who get real into the minutiae of the game, but for me, I just need it to play like baseball. Yes, this scoring bug is above and beyond what would be considered "minutiae", but I can still live with it. If I end a season only having 110 rbi's instead of the 124 I should have gotten, I am not really going to give a crap. The game plays like butter, and that is what is paramount to me. I do hope it is corrected either with a patch, or in next year's version, for those who are truly bothered by it.

I have also heard a few of the commentary bugs, like Vasgersian saying a routine grounder to 2nd will go for extra bases, and a pop up behind home plate that was caught by the catcher just before it went out of play being caught on the warning track. I guess I have come to expect a few of these niggling issues in my games, because I don't get too worked up about it.
