Re: **MLB 08: The Show (All versions) Bugs/Glitches Thread**

Sometimes instead of getting pissed about all these "glitches" I actually take a moment to get one hell of a laugh out of it because it's a reminder that it's a video game and odd things happen.

I know the collision detection is lacking this year (according to reports on OS and the IGN review) but what's wrong with the right fielder running through the wall in foul territory to make the catch and then continuing to run through the fans on his way into the "dugout".

Angels in the Outfield? Perhaps.

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (All versions) Bugs/Glitches Thread**

Anyone know if the bullpen glitch is still in from last year? I had a decent amount of games where when I would warm someone up, the game would just sit there watching the pitcher warm up, and there was nothing you could do to get back to the game. Only solution was to turn the system off. Anyone run into this yet?

I think all of the bugs that were in 07, are present here.

I am also pretty sure that no pitcher will be able to win the rookie of the year award too, but no one will confirm this yet.

The problem is that when there is millions of line of code, and you have to trace subroutine after subroutine to find the one logic problem that is causing the said bug, it is just more time and money efficent to concentrate on other things. I should know because I am also a coder.

These bugs will not be patched because they could not be patched last year. I know everyone is hopefull but SECA was away of these problems in 07, and I am sure they know they are there in 08. If they were simple fixes, I am sure they would allready of been fixed.

How about you wait until you have the game, and then you can go ahead and confirm all of the bugs for us. Until then, you can't substantiate that claim. Right now maybe 1% of us have the game, and it will take some time to find out what bugs do exist.

Until then, just chill out.

I know someone in the game impressions thread (I think Pared, but not sure) said that the box score showed both pitchers winning and no save (even though he saved the game with Wagner). However, in the game summary the breakdown was correct. This would suggest there is hope that the problem is just an overlay error. Can anyone please check this in season/franchise and see if when it shows both pitchers winning in the boxscore how it translates into the actual stats (i.e. do both pitchers actually get the win, or does it calculate properly in season stats)? I'd really like to find a definitive answer on this as I play franchise mode primarily. Thanks!!!

..Nice.... Wagner shuts the door!

Box Score:

Mets 5 9 1
Nats 2 7 0

Notables:

Martinez 7.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER 3 BB 6 k's
Heilman 1.0 IP 2 H 1 R 1 ER 0 BB 3 k's
Wagner is missing... ????

J. Patterson 5.1 6 5 5 0 10
R. King 1.2 1 0 0 0 1
L. Ayala 2.0 2 0 0 0 4

Martinez gets the W... but so does Patterson? (Only in the Box score... I think it's messed up. It's fine on the Game Summary screen!) Wagner the S.

HBP: Milledge

2B: Alou; Young, Kearns
SF: Church

The music is great! Low Rider... Blitzkrieg Bop...

Hope that clears it up a little.

And by the way, I can't wait to see your rosters, Knight--you do yeoman's work and do a helluva job!

OK....

I completely forgot I posted about that and I guess I should clarify.

The stat that I saw did NOT, I repeat, did NOT indicate that both pitchers got the save. In fact, it was a stat for Wild Pitches (hence the WP in the Box Score). The W was correctly given to the proper guy.

Wagner was missing from the box score, however.

Sorry for the misinformation as I've been trying to get so much to you guys so quickly. Plus I've been really busy playing.

You can all come back from the ledges now!

That's good news, so does this mean that the scoring bug is only for walk-offs and there is no bug that gives both pitchers a win? Was Pared the only one who reported the winning pitcher bug or have others encountered this?

I did read through all 15 pages here and I am still unclear about this answer (probably because my brain isn't quite awake yet...very late night last night ).

If you read my post you will see I am quoting DEFEL, who has the game, and who has pointed out two bugs that have been present in previous versions of SECA baseball games.

Are they game breaking? absoulty not. If the only bugs are ones that existed in previous games, then I would be happy because they were easly tolerated.

I don't recall anyone else mentioning it. Just in case anyone is curious, I've experienced this in Exhibition AND Rivalry. Still have not checked out Franchise/Season mode yet.
