yeah... they purposely put the stat glitch in the game so that they could concentrate on 11 beach ball animations.

Give me a break and while you are at it, give SCEA a break. All they have done is give us an amazing game of baseball that has a stat glitch that is at best a rare occurance.

Harsh and untrue, but I'll be damned if I didn't think the exact same thing when I saw this bug.

You missed the point. My point was that they put in 11 different animations for something that hardly ever happens in real life, when they could've spent the time it took to make those goofy animations making sure things like oh, I don't know... the correct pitchers gets the win and the loss in the game.

And no, I won't give them a break. I plan on putting down $60 of my hard earned money to play a baseball video game that can't keep stats as accurately as I could with pen and paper when I was 5 years old. Now I might put that $60 down on 2k8, depending on how well of a game it plays.

It's not untrue. I'm getting sick and tired of sports games coming out with new gimicks every year, only to have the gameplay, or in this case, stat tracking, not work. News Flash to SCEA. The beachball is awesome, for about half a game, then it's just silly to always see a beachball being hit around the stands in April in Boston. I don't even remember the last time I saw a beachball at a real MLB game. I also don't remember the last time 2 pitchers got credit for a win in the same game.

Keeping an updated list in the first post will also help Kolbe and company to see what we have found and will avoid people reporting the same bugs again and again.
Feel free to make the list and go through the thread, and PM it to me and I'd gladly put it there.

Our mistake, we forgot you've written an immensely complex computer program the size of a Blu-Ray disc that plays an incredible game of baseball in one year. I'm not saying you can't complain about it, but I am saying you are expecting too much of $60. If you spend $30,000 on a car that had a brake problem, it would be something. We're talking about a $60 PS3 game that has a minor glitch and still plays a pretty good game of baseball.

People on this board seem to think that if they give a dollar to someone, they should get perfection. That isn't the case. You have every right to buy a game. You also have the right NOT to buy the game. It's $60, not a major investment.

no I didn't miss your point at all.

You act as though they knew the stats problem was in the game but didn't care so that they could work on animations for a beach ball which is untrue.

And no one said that it doesn't keep stats accurately during season/franchise. As for now, the glitch is just an overlay glitch and nothing more. And again, its something that happens rarely at best(I for one haven't seen it happen).

So spend your hard-earned $60 however you like, but I spent mine on The Show and I couldn't be happier.

It's not that complicated to make a baseball videogame give one pitcher a loss and one pitcher a win, instead of just giving them both wins. It's been done since about 1987.

I just hope it can be patched. Scratch that, I know it can be patched. I hope SCEA releases a patch.

But when you are writing a very complicated set of code, sometimes things happen that you don't expect and that you find out about too close to a deadline. That's what bugs are. You are acting like it was intentional. They did it last year. Surely they changed something to do something new with the stat engine that altered this somehow. I'm not a coder, but I do understand the process on a basic level.

I'm sure it will be patched.

Yeah, you're right. I don't even have the game yet, and if it truly is just an overlay problem, and the correct stats get posted in your season stats, then it's not that big of a deal. I just for once would like to have a baseball game that worked properly all the time.
