that is a lot of time and a lot of money and i really dont think as many players really care about how accurate they are in the gmae as they are in real life. if that was the case many more players would volenteer to go and have their mo cap done.
What on earth are you talking about? You couldn't be more wrong.

Did you play MLB 2K7? Did you see how freaking PERFECT they got a lot of their sig styles? Not just the batting stances, but the pre-pitch swings, the way they step out of the box, the way pitchers receive the ball from the catcher, it was all amazingly accurate. It was scary. And guess what, they didn't have all the players come in, put on a mo-cap suit, and go through the motions!

They pay mo-cap talent, they watch video of the player, and they emulate what they see. That's how it's done.

But for some reason the people who do mo-cap for SCEA just don't do it accurately at all. Some of the sig styles look so wrong it's like the mo-cap guy never saw the player play.

Does anyone know if they have Rafael Betancourt's extremely long process of pitching? I'd like to see that little stuttering he does with his leg and then coming with the heat to throw guys off balance.

It wasn't in last years game, and was not in the list of the new ones added this year, so I'm guessing no.

I guess we won't be hearing from Chris anytime soon on this topic. It's been over a week since he said he'd give us he's feedback on this topic.

Oh well, I would have liked to have had that since he is one of the best setup men in the game and is unique.

Chris has been MIA, Kolbe hasn't been around much either. Guess they are working extra hard, getting the game ready for it's early release.

Just the opposite, actually...

Yes, I am slacker...

Yes, I will respond...it is on my list....

it just happens to be after all the things on my wife's "You are FINALLY done with this game, now get this stuff done!" list she presents me with every year!

Re: Pet peeve (Signature styles) LONG POST

Don't expect these guys back for another week. So wouldn't it be a good idea to gather a list and show examples?

My main beef is Ryan Howard. Dude has his stance in the commercial and in the preview mocap session, yet he has the same stance from MLB 06:The Show? Which by the way is totally wrong.

MLB08:
His bat never comes down to his shoulder...which should happen. It just stays in that fixed position the whole time. His feet are perfect, now why didn't they finish off the stance?

Real Stance:http://youtube.com/watch?v=VREMjueYqBI
Its from the back but is more than enough to tell how much different it is.

If you want further evidence pop in MLB2k7 or 2k8, whatever.

Thanks.
