Asking them to do this over a 2 or 3 year span isn't asking for the impossible. It's sad when players have the same inaccurate pitching deliveries since 2005. The game is at a whole new level now, that's crystal clear from the demo, why not take the batting stances and pitching deliveries to that same high level, instead of using 4 year old mo-caps?

2K started to do this, there were only a few dozen new sig styles in last years game, but they were perfect. And from the vids they have released this year, pretty much every player shown has a sig stance and delivery, and this took them only 2 years. And they are doing it while trying to build a solid baseball engine. The Show already has a solid baseball engine, hell it's ridiculously good.

Start with next years game, get all the star players you can down perfect. If it means only 50 or 60 new ones that's fine. The next year get 60 or 70 more. Before you know it MLB: The Show 2011 nobody will even remember some of the laughably bad pitching motions from 07. But that means getting mo-cap guys who can actually emulate the real deliveries and stances. Beckett's new one from this year has him hopping at the end like Mussina or Hampton. He doesn't do that in real life, why did the mo-cap guy add his own personal spin on Beckett's delivery like that? Just do it how he does it.

Chris hasn't been around much. I'm guessing next time he has time he'll answer this. I hope he reads the whole thread, there's a lot of good stuff in here.

Manny Ramirez's stance looks awful.. as does Ortiz. Not even close... They've nailed Lowell, Drew and Pedroia though...

you all realize that to have t his happen they would have to have players coming into the studio all through the off season to get this done, and it isnt like scea would pay for their airfare to do it, and all that so i think that a lot of players dont think it is worth it. to truly get their stances and pitching mechanics all on the mark they have to each go through mo-cap. it is the only way every player will ever have their correct stances, swings, feilidng motions etc...

that is a lot of time and a lot of money and i really dont think as many players really care about how accurate they are in the gmae as they are in real life. if that was the case many more players would volenteer to go and have their mo cap done.

Exactly... MVP 2005 was able to include signature styles of most of the Red Sox and you know what? They nailed it. Manny, Ortiz, Varitek. Even Mueller looked real... The Show is the best looking baseball game ever but they really f'd the signature styles.

Now thats what I'm talking about.... I like your style.
I know I've mentioned player specific swings/follow-thru's more than a few times around these boards somewhere.

How awesome would it be to have everything from Sheffield's monstrous cuts to Griffey's sweet stroke every single swing?..... possibly before they retire.

100% agreed eric...
follow-thru's would definatly bring the hole signature style concept to another level.

Dude a fat man in a mo cap suite can do it. Hell i will do it for free. All you need is a tv, or mlb.com.
