Hey, I'm waiting more than anyone but let's give the guy a break. It's the weekend, he's been working non stop to get the game released, and he has a family, which I'm sure he would like to spend some time with. I'm sure answering my concerns on signature styles isn't on top of his list right now. The fact that he said he'd get us some answers is good enough for me. I'm just gracious that he gives us info at all. He owes us nothing.

I'm looking forward to Chris' reply as well. I'm glad he's taken the time to read all of this and eventually answer.

And just for the record, a lot of the batting stances are good, there's just a few that are off. But it's the pitching motions that are amazingly innacurate.

agreed. i know they're getting close to release so they're either 1) in serious crunch mode or 2) pretty much done and finally getting to see and remember what their families look like

agreed also. it may already be in the game, but if it's not then its one of two things i would love to see implemented into each pitchers sliders/attributes in the game:
1) i would love to see each pitch have a MPH slider instead of a generic slider where you have no idea how fast your pitcher will be throwing until you try it out and tweak it
2) a slider for each pitch that gives a ration/percentage of the time that the pitcher throws that pitch (ex. 43%4FB, 25%2FB, 20%Curve, 12%Changeup) i think thats 100%

I have been wanting this in baseball games for years. It's a great idea, instead of having "Pitch Speed" slider, have it in MPH form. Fastballs from: 84-87, 88-91, 92-95, 96+ It would be a lot better this way, me thinks.

And it would be a lot easier to create rookies/minor leaguers from their scouting reports when we read they throw a fastball in the mid to high 90's, and a devastating high 80's slider.

Takes maybe an hour to chart the pitch speeds in The Show. Just test them and write 'em down, then you're good to go. And while I love doing stuff like that, I understand if others can't find the time or can't be bothered

I couldn't agree more.

That would be sweet if the pitchers actually followed their own true to life pitching patterns. I would like see guys like Lowe and Wang use the sinker a majority of the time. I would suspect in a videogame though it would become very easy to hit these guys because you'd be looking for only one pitch all the time. I don't use the guess pitch feature but those that do, this would be even less of a challenge.

Re: Pet peeve (Signature styles) LONG POST

read the post for the first time and I have to say bro, I am glad you wrote it and glad you got a response. I have been PM for a week now with questions about sig stuff and nothing. So as long as its fixed good deal. Some off the wall sig stuff were (including the demo) Jason Varitek, Brad Hawpe, Mark texiera, carlos delgado, chipper jones, hank blalock, and ian kinsler to name a few. Heck Varitek, texiera, hawpe all have open stances. I really dont get how that was missed? Manny and David ortiz stance is a little off too. Not much but manny stands taller not crouched and ortiz doesnt shake the crap out of his bat. (is it me or does ortiz have a teenie head in comparison to his body?) This game is great though, just these little nuances need to be fixed. Great post bro!

That's a little ridiculous, IMO. We're talking about close to 1200 players here.

Not to mention, the other things these guys must focus on in a limited development window.

Personally, and I only do this with games that scream A+ quality.... I'll give the developers a pass in an area like this. They obviously have so much right that if a guy is even remotely close to his real life form, I'm ok with that.

Now before anyone goes on about having your cake and eating it to... take a step back and look at everything that is in this game. I've posted it elsewhere: I've seen pitchers with 3 different throwing motions and fielders with unique throwing motions in there as well... from the demo.

The sig. styles can get there. I'd rather they work on adding signature swing follow-thru's before we start asking them to re-do everything.
