If you read my original post, you'd see that I listed gameplay AND sig. styles as things I view as the most important aspects of the game FOR ME. If I wanted to play a baseball game with great gameplay and completely generic styles for everyone, I'd still be playing High Heat. Having Randy Johnson, Jimmy Key, and Tom Glavine all look the same with just different numbers on their backs, didn't immerse me in the game. Sorry. If I'm facing Roy Oswalt or Micah Owings I want to feel like it's really them out on the hill, otherwise what's the point? Baseball, more than any other game has a lot of individual styles incorporated within the game. Why wouldn't I want that in my video baseball game.

Thanks man. I thought I was on an island all alone. At least I know I'm not nuts now. Hahaha

Thanks for responding Chris. That's what makes you guys and this place great. You guys really listen to your fans. I look forward to your response on my topic.

You're right this game is a great sim experience. It's the best game of baseball I've ever played, hands down. That's why I just spent $400 on a new PS3 and a used copy of MLB 07. I will never play another baseball game on the 360 again. I'm completely sold. Does that mean I'm 100% satisfied as a consumer? Don't I have the right to want more so the game plays even closer to real life MLB action? We all have access to Chris and Kolbe, who make themselves available to us, so why is it so wrong that I post a legitimate concern? Like I said, if they didn't tout the game as having all the sig. styles they do, I wouldn't be saying to them that they're off with some of them. One guy mentioned that Wang's delivery was off and they fixed it for 08. It blows my minds that Chris and Kolbe are so accessable and responsive to what we're looking for here.

It blows my mind that someone would care about fireworks and fan interaction with foul balls but doesn't care if they players look and act like they do when their at bat or on the mound. Hey to each their own I guess.
First, to stay on topic, I'll just say good post...particularly about Chris and Kolbe. I love how they are so accessable and unafraid to address even the most minor complaints.

...Now, to be honest, the real reason for this is I absolutely love your sig...lol...d*mn fine stuff

Back in my college days, I had that bumber sticker on my **** box car. I drove to Yankee Stadium for a game one day and I was pretty sure I'd come back after the game and have my bumper ripped off and have it thrown through my windshield. Lucky for me my car was still in one peace. Now that I have a little girl I had to change my stance a little. LOL

lol...I understand you completely....particularly with a daughter. I've had to tone down my Yankees hatred (at least outwardly ) since my son was born...hard to teach "acceptable hatred" to children...lol.

I couldnt agree more with the orginal post. Im a huge stickler for sig-styles, authentication. Too many of the batting stances/pitching styles are way off in the show.

First, who said anything was "wrong"? I stated my opinion...no need to jump down my throat over it. It's not like I called the guy an idiot or anything. I appreciate his opinions, even if I happen to think they are a bit over the top.

Secondly, whether or not his issues are "legitimate" is a matter of opinion. At the end of the day, I realize the chances of us ever getting a completely bug-free, perfect game are slim. Afterall, like my sig says, it's only a video game. But when you get into long-winded posts about certain pitch deliveries not being 100% accurate or someone's arm motion being 1 inch lower than the real guy, then you're taking your video game fanaticism to new levels.

I guess I come from the old school days when video games didn't even have real teams or players. Games have progressed to point of realism that I thought I'd never see. I am constantly amazed at what these sports games have to offer, so I guess I'm willing to live with players that have a facial hair out of place or stadiums that don't have the exact number of seats as the real thing. It's just nitpicking.

1) Nobody "jumped" all over you. He simply asked what the big deal was.

2) It's nice that you come from the old school, but some people come from the new school. You need to respect their opinions like they do yours. The OP voiced a concern. Fine. You criticized it, and now are claiming to "appreciate" his opinion. You have been walking a very fine line that is becoming closer and closer to trolling, so be careful.

I like you come from those "old school" day....I'm turning 39 in August, so I've seen the progression in all these games.

I remember being jacked up over the sprites in Madden finally having their correct numbers.....As the power in each system evolves the gameplay and realism levels should be increasing leaps and bounds.

As the consumer who shells out the $60 for the title, not to mention the $400 for the harware, I expect to pop in the latest greatest title and be wowed.

I personally don't consider what was brought up "nitpicking"....I'm willing to bet the SCEA team doesn't either. It's called striving for excellence....if they weren't interested in these details, small or larger they wouldn't be as active as they are in the communtity.

I've never seen devolopers this active with a community before....for the last few years the alternate black White Sox jersey mistake has been driving me batty ( talk about nitpicking ).....the fact that Kolbe & Chris are around, coupled with the great people here at OS presented the information needed to let me inform the White Sox of the error, and correct it.

And SoxChamp, you're right, I won't cease to play a title over an incorrect animation, minor stadium error, wrong jersey, etc.....but it sure it nice to know the dev team is right here to let me voice my issues over the "little things" and that they take action to make their title the best it can be.

Absolutely, and I never said you shouldn't voice your concerns. But there are so many things that they add to these games in such a short time fence, that everything isn't always going to get in. My question to you was would you rather be 50% satisfied or 90% satsified? We are never going to get the "perfect game", but if Juan Uribe doesn't have his sig style, I'm not going to sweat it, but again, that's just me.

Never said it was, I pointed out a scheduling concern to Kolbe and they fixed it immediately.

I guess I'm more of a gameplay first, atomsphere second, and sig style third kind of guy.

Re: Pet peeve (Signature styles) LONG POST

I just played against the D'Backs and Brandon Webb seemed to have generic motion as well. He also seemed to throw a lot more fastballs than sinkers which is odd because he known tho throw that heavy sinker 75-80% of the time.
