Before I started using power -5, i was definatly getting more HRs than doubles, no doubt about it...(in the first month of my season i had 33HR and 28 doubles!! which is far off from reality.)
now with everything reduced to 0 i think in the long run ill get to this 1/2 ratio or at least close, since for example a lot of shots im having that would be Hrs with the default sliders are hitting the wall for doubles.

Its a matter of wait and see now.

So do you have all the sliders set on 0 as far as power, solid contact, timing etc.? [Reply]

That's what I'm thinking, batting sliders barely do anything. I'm gonna leave power at 1 instead of zero as it really doesn't make much of a difference. I guess I'll try lowering the window slider more, but I thought that would make the CPU swing and miss too much because the CPU is swinging and misses just about the right amount now for me.

I've always played this series with pitcher confidence off. This game relies on confidence way too much. It's too easy/hard to pitch with high/low confidence. And, hitters get to much of a boost if they're having good game; an 0 for 4 Albert Pujols should be more dangerous than a 3 for 4 number 7 hitter. [Reply]

brunnoce....are you still rockin legend mode with all hitting sliders less fouls balls at 0?

Is it still working out?

Are there any other sliders that you changed?

Do you use the left stick or power button with these?

Pitch speed 5 or 0? [Reply]

Dowie,

I played 3 games with 3 different teams over the weekend just to try this out and my experience is the following:

With user hitting sliders all the way down to zero:

1. You better be good at using the L stick because you'll need the boost it provides when making solid contact.
2. My hit totals were low, 5, 8 and 6 in total.
3. The hit variety was terrible for me. All my hits were singles through the infield. The line drives disappeared.
4. When I did get a pitch in my wheelhouse and I pulled the ball, it went foul most of the time. (frustrated)
5. High pitches were hit on the ground.

However, I did walk 3x and struck out 7x which is usually my average per game so I did not strikeout a ton and therefore contact and timing is not eliminated at all.

As soon as I raised contact, timing, solid hits and power by one (from zero) I started seeing more hit variety.

I think if you're a pro with the L stick you'll find it challenging compared someone like me who was frustrated. [Reply]

The timing and power sliders are the only sliders that really do much for user hitting. The solid hits slider IIRC correctly won't decrease/increase hit totals, it will decrease/increase extra base totals. The contact slider barely does anything for the player, it's basically a CPU batting slider. The timing slider is the key slider that will decrease/increase your hit totals. The power slider does work very well at increasing/decreasing HR totals; I have my slider at -3 (2/10) but I use the power swing a lot. I'd definitely recommend have power at at least 3/10 if you just use the contact swing. [Reply]

Going to have to vehemently disagree with this. At defaut a ball hit on the inside of the plate will react the same as hit on the middle or outside; in short, physics are completely disregarded. Moreover, a perfectly timed swing with contact at default will (almost) always result in contact, this is also manipulated by lowering this slider.

The contact slider is the most important slider for HUM hitting.

Of course, this is in my humble opinion. [Reply]

The only slider that has ever lowered hit totals for me is the timing slider. Contact, power, and solid hits have never lowered hit totals for me or the cpu. [Reply]
