Slider Guys.......Please Help Me

I'm playing on HOF and I can't seem to strike the cpu out no matter what pitches I call or where I place them. Seems like the cpu always makes contact with 2 strikes. Any suggestions?

Also, can someone please tell me exactly what the hit quality and timing window sliders do? After reading some posts on here I'm really confused about adjusting them right or left and what it does.

My goal with my slider adjustments is to get less hits, strike out the cpu more, but have them get more hits. Thanks for your help.

As far as getting whiffs, are you playing on HOF Default? Tell us more about how you pitch ... do you mix up pitch types and locations a lot? Keep throwing the same pitches but in different locations?

I'm almost playing on HOF default but I do have the pitch count slider increased a little and also the computer's power up a notch. I do mix up my pitch types and locations. I use the Braves mostly and I really don't have any power pitchers to work with, so I try to keep the hitters off balance with different pitches and locations. Seems like I'll have the cpu down 0-2 in the count and I'll throw something breaking low and outside trying to get them to chase and they'll still manage to poke it in the field of play somewhere.

Re: Slider Guys.......Please Help Me

You might try to work guys inside with fastballs or cutters and then go low and away with breaking stuff on strike 2. Every now and again I use the API just to get some help mixing my pitches, and I get strikeouts that way--the key seems to be moving up and down, in and out. One other thing I do is try not to show everything right away--I might go fastball heavy for a couple of batters and then drop something off speed. I was playing this morning with Maddux and had 3-4 strikeouts through 4 using these approaches.

Re: Slider Guys.......Please Help Me

also on occasion....with guys who have a reputation to chase...you wanna come up/in/high in the strike zone...or just out of the strike zone (high).

Sometimes with sliders...you want to START the pitch JUST OFF the outside corner...and if you do it right, i'll break on the corner, or just off the corner...rendering a swinging strike, or a called strike three.
