My Pitching Sliders
Still not feeling comfortable with these, because I find myself ahead in the count WAY too much.
I'm on HOF, Classic Pitching, no pitching aids (no cursor, no rumble on controller), and I still hardly ever walk anyone.
On sliders, I have Pitch Control on -10.
CPU Contact is on +4 and Power on +2.
My Cubs have a Team ERA of about 4.30.... I'm about 10th in the league. That's pretty cool, but I'm leading the league in LEAST WALKS by a large margin.
It's Pitch Movement that has me stumped. I had it on +10 for a long time, hoping that all that movement on the pitches would make for increased problems with control. It did not.
Then I went to Pitch Movement at +5. My theory was that less movement on my pitches would make them easier to hit. I would get bashed around, and start spotting the ball to the corners of the plate more and more to keep the ball out of the center of the plate, leading to more walks. That has not worked ... I'm still not walking people, AND I don't give up enough hits/runs.
Shall I take Pitch Movement down ... all the way to -10? Down to default? Anyone had similar experiences?
(Rosters are SCEA's release from the second week of the season)
