Why is Timing Window & User Contact linked?

I see most sliders have timing window 2 spots off from user contact. (example User Contact -8 Timing -6) but if this is the way it is supposed to be why didn't the developers do this isntead of leaving both of them at the same default level together?

Also what would happen if you reverse it and had your timing window less than what your user contact is?

Im a little confused, what version are you talking about? In the PS3 version there is no actual contact slider, its been said that the hit quality is the contact slider though, I tend to disagree but some believe it to be so. I currently have Timing Window at -10 and Hit Quality at -8, but I didnt do it by any formula of keeping them 2 apart, its just how it worked out in the end. In my opinion, Hit Quality does nothing more then either shrink or expand the sweet spot of your bat, thus resulting in more extra base hits, harder hit balls and more homeruns. Timing Window, imo, is nothing more then a slider to allow you to get the bat on the ball when its deeper in on you, the higher this number the closer your going to get to being able to foul the ball off when it should be behind you, its to help with batting averages and lower your strikeout totals. Now this is the way I see it, Im sure someone else will see it differently.

Yea when I say User Contact I mean hit quality. Most slier sets have it the other way, where timing window is 2 spots higher than hit quality, not lower like you have it. Not sure why that is in general.
