Yeah I've had injuries but I'm talking nothing big nothing more that a 15 day dl. most of them are injuries that keep a guy out 3 or 4 days. It just seems odd that I havent seen anything big with the slider at 10. With it at 19 things seem pretty good.

I may be jumping the gun, but I do have a pretty decent set of skills when it comes to baseball games. I will play some more and start a short season to get a better feel. I have another question for you as well. I know you are the CAP guy here and I was over at TSL. So you work edits for all players and you give power ratings of 0 to guys who have hit low numbers of homers the previous year? What about prospects with budding power and unproven power? Do you use any certain formula with this game? I dont foresee any other games beating out this title so it looks like I need to establish a love for it and learn to CAP.

most of us know that one's skillset when it comes to baseball sim games, covers a myriad of things...the LEAST of which, in my opinion, is hitting. The pitching...the pitching to guys/teams with immense power overall is the real test....

I edit veryone at the MLB level, MOST at AAA and here and there at AA

Without getting too scientific...I assign '0' to a players' power split if...when I prorate his homers over 500 AB's...it comes out to 5 homers or less. Reason being, it is a 100% definite that if you play out and/or sim that player over a full season, he'll hit AT LEAST 1 or 2 of 'em

Regarding prospects...I never deal with or worry about potential and that stuff...this goes back to MVP 2004 days. I play full seasons and while keeping my transactions up to date...if a real teams calls a guy up, so will I ;-)

I used a bunch of formulas, but I never divulge them...can't do that..lol

Hey Rod I was just curious with these sliders, what pitcher on your chise team leads in K's and what his IP were (just to see what your K/9 innings looks like) Thanks man and once again great sliders.

Interesting topic...

My Mets:

Johan Santana: 157 IP, 122 K's = 6.99 K/9

My Rays:

David Price: 150 IP, 131 K's = 7.86 K/9

Scott Kazmir: 140.2 IP, 106 K's = 6.80 K/9

MLB real stats

Santana 7.87 not too bad

Price not enough innings in majors to use

Kazmir- 9.65 , that one i can say its harder to K going against stronger line-ups. Also your CPU hit quality is very high and thats a contact slider if i am not correct. One thing I have noticed is hit quality combined with batter discpline really go hand in hand to get K's. not criticism Rod your sliders are solid, just a thought thats all

lmao..not too bad? Well..it's IS LESS THAN 1 strikeout per 9 below the average

Price averaged 8.98 K/9 in the whole minors this year...so i'm pretty close

No, I'll tell you what the problem was with Kazmir, for many starts...almost mirroring his real experiences, he throws a ton of pitches before the 6th inning...and just flat out...he's been struggling...but I am good with that.

Hit quality high? How do you mean?

Really feeling these sliders just had a great pitcher battle with Lackey and Liriano. K-Rod blew my 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 9th by giving up a 2 run double. This is what I am talking about.

the only change I made was I turned off HR Celebration and The rob HR indicator, this way when there is a HR that barely gets out I do not know until it is gone (Like the real thing).

@ BIG CAROLINA

I thank you and I am glad things seem to be working for you...you know what? That rob HR indicator...those orange circles...don't know about you, but no matter how I time my players or how high they jump, the ball ALWAYS seems out of reach....lol

you have the CPU hit quality slider at 17 , that increases chance of contact, lowering the K chance, I think anyway also I think the AI give you a break with the pitch cursor off
