yes, you're right....but you know what? This whole thing boils down to one's skillset....as some of us have discussed. If you're someone who has got a good/very grip on the science of pitching (lol), you can have many more satisfying games than stinkers.

The other thing is that because of the number of sliders, if you alter one, you definitely will affect others...sometimes where you have to adjust them, it has to be done significantly to compensate.

I know I give up a lot of homers...but I don't give them up in every game

I don't remember the EXACT reason why I put it at 17...but I'm sure I didn't see certain kinds of offense from the CPU wayyyy back in the beginning...not sure

Here are the hit totals in the last 10 games against my Mets:

STL (60-56): 16, 11, 11

FLA (49-66): 11, 8, 18

HOU (58-55): 9, 14, 10

SD (72-41): 10

and against my Rays:

KC (46-70): 8

TOR: (63-51): 7, 15, 6

DET (77-37): 9, 9, 9

CLE: (54-60): 16, 9, 12

I may consider bringing it down to somewheres around 10

thats exactly what i set it at, usually i set hit quality and the cpu timing window the same for both human and cpu and it usually does well, I will post after i get about 20 games in which will be 4 turns for each starter, and I will use the Giants, most of who are strike out pitchers.

Thanks Carew! I really like this set. It really forces you to pitch well, and each team has pop in their bat. Great randomness as well, I would highly recommend these to anyone.

@ DEFTFUNDAMENTALZ

That was what I wanted...See, I'm NOT the kind of gamer who is simply gonna throw it down the middle...no way...Sometimes on a first pitch to certain batters, I'll start off with a fastball down Broadway, but overwhelmingly most of the time, I pitch up, down in out and in 'chase' territory. So if I walk a guy, it's cool

It's always about setting your batter up. Don't get me wrong, there are a few times...with some power hitters, that you CAN throw the fastball right down the middle, and he'll miss it or foul it off...or even pop up. THAT is realism

Carew....I saw you moved CPU Hit Quality to 10. Did you also move their timing window from 17 to 10? Thanks!!

@ gcoons

hi...no, it's still at 17, but I have noticed that dropping the CPU hit quality to 10, SEEMINGLY I will have more days than I had before in keeping the CPU batters from having many high-hit games.

*** remember, I NEVER sim ***
my last 5 with my Mets:

8-12 @ Wash; Nats 3 hits (Mets win 7-0)

8-13 @ Wash; Nats 14 hits (Mets win 9-5)

8-14 @ Wash; Nats 7 hits (Mets win 3-0)

8-15 @ Pitts; Bucs 5 hits (Mets win 7-4)

8-16 @ Pitts; Bucs 8 hits (Mets win 3-1)

my last 5 with my Rays:

8-12 @ Oak; A's 8 hits (A's win 2-1)

8-13 @ Oak; A's 9 hits (Rays win 5-4)

8-14 @ Oak; A's 12 hits (A's win 3-2)

8-15 @ Tex; Rangers 8 hits (Rangers win 3-2)

8-16 @ Tex; Rangers 7 hits (Rangers win 4-2)
