You all must change to this setting!

Joking, of course as I know that we all have different preferences when playing the game, but this is a change that I have found to double my enjoyment in the pitching part of the game.

The change is turning off the pitch location icon completely. This change along with the changes noted in my slider adjustment thread really make you have to try your hardest against the computer or they will really hurt you.

The pitch locator icon is the little floating baseball that you place where you want your pitch to go. Without it, you walk more batters, you throw more mistake pitches and locating your pitch successfully is far more challenging and rewarding. You have to "feel" the strike zone and you will find yourself pitching to zones far more often, which is what pitchers actually do, unless they are Greg Maddux and can throw it through a donut.

Beware! Learn how to keep the ball out of the middle of the zone or you will get hammered. Don't get discouraged. Once you learn to pitch like this, you will never go back.

Now, if only the cpu would do the same toward me. It seems that out of 10 pitches the cpu throws, it might look something like this:

8 pitches for strikes down the middle (low or high)
1 pitch for a border-line strike
1 pitch for an obvious ball

It needs to be more like this:

4 pitches for strikes down the middle (low or high, with the occasional or rare one that hangs right over the plate)
3 pitches for borderline strikes
3 pitches for obvious balls

I do this but with the fade do you turn it completely off?

I have always done it this way. I hated the way the other game never gave you the option to turn the cursor off. The cursor off is the only way to experience a more authentic pitching experience...IMO.

ok, i tried it and got roughed up pretty bad but let me ask you this do you uses the vibration option while pitching this way? i probably will use the vibration option at first to ease my wasy into pitching your way.

I do not use the vibration and would recommend that you don't. I see what you mean, but you will get it. It just takes a little practice.

Re: You all must change to this setting!

Thanks for suggesting this. I have found it to be much more realistic and fun to pitch.
