Human Hitting on PS2

Now that I got the CPU foul fest toned down does anyone have any suggestions on toning down player hitting some. As everyone probably knows by now there isn't as many options on the PS2 as on the PS3 and I have set everything down that I can think of and I'm still getting on average about 12-15 hits a game. I play as the Brewers and I'm 26 games into my franchise. My record is 21-5 and everyone in the starting line-up is batting over .330 with 2 people batting over .400. I'm first in the league in team batting average with a .359.

I play on HOF
API - off
Guess pitch - off

Hitting sliders are at(with all the way left being 0)
Player Contact : 0
Player Power : 10 (if I go any lower than that I don't see any extra base hits at all)
Player Plate Awareness : 0

Cpu pitcher Aggression : 1 (trying to get them to throw outside the zone more)

I raised pitch speed to : 10
I do have the window timing set to 0 but I'm not sure if that does anything on the PS2 doesn't seem to be any differance between 0 and 20 with this one.

If anybody has any suggestions it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for your help.

IMO It's the same on the ps3.
It has gotten better but I had to go in and lower player attributes in order for it to be more realistic. I read on here, somewhere, that someone used like 75% as being 100% in the attribute area. Try that see what happens. Hope that makes sense. Good luck.

So basically what your saying is drop my players contact and power down by about 25%? If thats what your saying I'll try it and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion

Edit : Do I just adjust the contact and power for each player or all the batting attributes like plate discipline, clutch things like that?

drop the vision and I believe discipline down down for each player by more than 50% also. Ive also turned down clutch by more than 50%. Lowering the power and contact only diminishes the strength of the hit.

I make sure that all my players visions are less than half way full. I keep the good hitters roughly at 35-40%. and the weaker hitters lower.

since then Ive managed to hit .325 but I made these adjustments about 15 games ago. so my team average may even be lower now. Im averaging about 8-10 hits. Ive had games where Ive had 4 hits and a game high of 15.

IM having problems with Manny and Veriteck. no matter how much I lower their ratings they still continue to hit. Manny has a 454 BA, and Veriteck is at 405.
Ortiz is at 378 but has cooled considerably since Ive made the adjustments. every other player is where they are suppose to be at.

Re: Human Hitting on PS2

tril thanks for the suggestions. I dropped everyones plate
vision down to 0, plate discipline down to about 50%, and their batting clutch down to 25-50% and have seen a differance. I kept their power and contact the same. I have played 6 games with these settings and have had 1 game with more than 10 hits and that was an 11 hit game in Wrigley with a stiff wind blowing straight out. hopefully this will continue as it is alittle more realistic now. These are my stats after 1 month so you can see why i'm trying to drop hits some. I play as the Brewers and after the first month i'm 21-6

Name AVG R 2B 3B HR RBI BB K
______ ___ ___ __ __ __ __ __ __
Fielder .350 21 5 0 7 22 7 8
Hardy .351 15 8 0 1 17 4 13
Hart .347 18 7 1 1 12 3 6
Hall .388 20 9 0 5 21 1 11
Cameron .425 21 8 0 6 18 2 9
Braun .377 16 12 0 3 12 2 16
Weeks .369 19 5 2 4 14 0 8
Kendall .418 11 5 1 1 15 4 4

As you can see everyone is batting well over .300. I'll report back after a few more weeks of games and let you know how things are going with the settings. Thanks again for your help on this.
