What is the "Patch" everyone is talking about?

I see many of you mention a "patch" of some kind. Can someone explain to me what it was for and if it changed game play. Is it only for the PS3? I play on the PSP. Will it affect me? Thanks for clearing this up.

It's just a PS3 patch for now. It won't affect you on the PSP.

Just make sure you are connected to the internet and start the game it will prompt you to download patch without having to sign-on to sportsconnect

It's suppose to help people to smoke less or quit smoking.
