Nice post. In addition to the sliders, can you post some of your reasoning/philosophy behind the sliders? For example, to improve problem A, you adjusted sliders B and C. Which issues do your sliders address or improve?

I have created a spreadsheet and included what i consider to be the "top 4" slider sets in here, namely SkyBoxers, HighHeats, Nemesis' and Pareds. Ive put them against each other, averaged figures to a certain degree, tested each set seperately and now i have basically merged what i believe to be the "strongest" part of each set to create this "perfect" set. I also tried default for a while so i could measure the changes against the box, so to speak.

I have then extensively tested this "merged" set, played and tweaked, played some more and tweaked some more and now i feel they are good enough to release to the unsuspecting Show playing world!

Some of you may remember i did this for MLB 2K7 and without blowing my own trumpet, i like to think it was the busiest and most appreciated set in there, i certainly got many a PM saying that, so i do know a thing or two about sliders, but certainly dont pretend to be any sort of genius. Im not going to list any settings such as API on/off, guess pitch, PCI etc, as they are all your individual choice, suffice to say i have any user help feature off.

Please dont play 2/3 games with these, see some results and stats you think odd and come on here bleating, they need time show the variation they give and to even out.

Please, show patience and these sliders shall reward you!

Ive been slowly putting these together since i got the game and am getting every sort of game imaginable, blowouts, pitchers duels, comeback wins, wide wins, 2/3 run games, all sorts, these sliders really have opened up this already amazing game to me even more.

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated, i can certainly take any constructive criticism on the chin, after all we all only want the same thing, to make the game play as realistically as it possibly can.

I think the key thing for me with this set i have found can be summed up in this statement:

"Play well, hit your spots, time your swings and you can win, but not all the time, play badly, miss your spots and mistime your swings, you will lose, but not all the time"

Just like real Baseball folks.

So, without further ado, heres my opening effort on this years game and indeed this forum, presenting...

Thanks Psycho.

The only thing I'll be doing right off the bat is raising the CPU Arm Strength. Once I saw the CPU throw directly to the bases....I can't go back!

Could you please elaborate on this, thanks!

I put the CPU Arm Strength slider at +5 from default.
The first time you see the CPU throw directly home to try and nail you....you'll cry.

This also needs to be tempered with baserunning aggression lowered and baserunning speed increased.

Still working on if it still works with the arm strengths of each individual player lowered.....and if the +5 acts as a "trigger" to have the OF use the cutoff man less that's the perfect solution.

Base running aggression is for the cpu runners not the human. It does not factor in what we created.

Haha yep that was me last year, now made the jump like so many of us have!

Im getting just fabulous games from these now (sorry to blow my own trumpet), this afternoon i lost a 3-1 pitchers duel in Milwaukee with Sheets shutting me down, just now i took the Dodgers to Fenway and won 8-7 with 16 hits each and 2 homers each, really, all ends of the spectrum covered.

Edit: Now up on SportsConnect, enjoy.

6, with the Brew Crew hitting 9.

Why do you ask?

Because with the sliders that I've been using hit totals are a bit high. Does the cpu ever get hit totals under 6 in the games that you play? I'm finding that they never go lower in the games that I've played.
