Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)

For the people who are ripping it up with the bat, I brought over my human settings from 07 for hit quality and power. That should put a damper on things!

07 slider settings:
Set 1 [Hit Quality: -10 / Power: +1]
Set 2 [Hit Quality: -8 / Power: 0]
Set 3 [Hit Quality: -6 / Power: +2]

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)

Everything with these sliders seem to be spot on for me except for the human hitting. I have also been hitting with ease with these sliders the adjustment that I made that seems to work best for me is Hit Quality -10 Power +1 Timing Window +4
I think a lot of the slider adjustments are universal and will work for everyone sliders such as arm strength and pitch movement and things like that can be narrowed down to the exact leval that they need to be at for the game to play right. Hitting sliders need to be decided by each individual user because we all have different hitting styles, reflexes, eyes, etc. Another hitting combo that I feel works nicely is Hit Quality -7 Power -2 Timing Window +5. From the testing that I have done the Timing Window is what opens up the hitting and creates more doubles at least for me. Anything above +5 on Timing Window hitting became way to easy at least thats been my experience. Pretty much the sliders I have been working on are very similar to these with the exception of CPU Arm Strength which I have not been able to figure out and Nemesis really nailed this one. Overall I believe this is a great slider set but people need to figure out their own skill leval for hitting and then adjust on their own from there. I am going to keep boxscores from my next 10 games and use different hitting slider combos and post the results as I get them. Nemesis I just want to say that your work on this game is appreciated your sliders were great last year and I have a feeling that by the time all the rosters are finished with edits and even more testing is done on the sliders this game will be playing great.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)

i think as with all things in video games each user will see different outcomes with anything due to each of us having differernt approaches wtih our hitting and our pitching. i for one do not swing at anything that isnt a lit up icon in the zone that i coulse to use with guess pitch. thus my hits per game are going to be vastly lower than the ones of the "swing from the heels" players that have little to no disapline at the plate and if it is in the zone they swing.

I also do not unless there are two strikes or the ball icon again is lit up from the guess pitch feature do not switn at balls up in teh zone unless there are two strikes as well.

Pitching i keep every one of my pitches down in the lower third of the strike zone. or so i try to do. where as a great many of you pitch up in the "danger zone" as i like to call it.

now im not saying that i havnet had my rear handed to me or have not handed an enemies mine but no i feel the only way to truly test out a slider set is to have everyone pitch and hit the same way while testing.

becase as i siee it each persons out come good or bad isnt the sliders themselves but how we each appraoch the game ourselves.

Thanks for taking the time to test these and create a slider set. I will give these a shot either tonight or over the weekend, I look forward to plugging them in.

yes its the same. The problem isn't my great hitting. Its that the game has overcompensated for pitcher aggressiveness. The cpu is going for the strikeout to induce great epic battles between the hitter and pitcher.

I've learned after striking out 9 or 10 times per game and drawing very few walks, that it pays not to get 2 strikes on you. So I've become a hacker and not a hitter.

All my games have 15-21 hits. Even low scoring ones. I just think the game is a hitfest. Sorry for the rant but sliders are not going to fix whats under the hood.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)

I was able to get 2 games in just now using these sliders with a couple of minor adjustments to human and cpu hitting. The changes that I made are listed below.
Hum Hit Quality -10 PWR +1 Timing Window +4 and I changed CPU PWR to +2

Had 2 really good games the first one I was the Rangers vs the Cardinals. I had 2 Doubles and 1 HR and the Cardinals had 0 extra base hits. The one big issue that I saw in both games that I played were CPU BB I was patient and would work to 3 ball counts then they couldnt miss the strike zone. Going to try raising CPU pitch movement possibly or lowering throw strike slider if this doesnt improve over the next couple of games.

Second game I was the Brewers vs Mets the bullpen really let me down in this one. I hit 5 Doubles in this game and 1 HR the Mets had 3 Doubles 1 Triple and 1 HR. This was one of the funnest games that I have had.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)

2 games so far:

Code:
 CHW 0 4 2
 CHC 1 6 0
Code:
SEA 6 11 0
 TB 3 11 0
I was the Sox then Rays.

So as you can see, started off with a great pitching duel between Rich Hill and Jose Contreras then had a good game, albeit a defeat, against the M's, Richie Sexson hitting 2 bombs.

Ill report back as i play more but its looking good so far.

p.s. ignore pberardi, all he does is go round looking to bad mouth any part of any game....i simply dont believe a word he says.

This was a major problem with the game in 06, was fixed in 07 and seems to be back for a guest appearance in 08. I am currently trying to tinker with it to tone it down some.

My only concern with bringing things down too far to make it go away is generating too many walks and dramatically ballooning pitch counts.
