Database - Latest version current thru end of 2009 Season.

This is the final version, with the latest PitchFX database.

As always, if you find any errors, post em. I've written in a lot of error catching code to try and catch the issues that will always arise with guys that don't have many at bats and such, so if you find someone that shouldn't raise an error (veterans, guys with plenty of AB's, etc) lemme know.

What's next? I'm waiting for the season to end to work on some arm ratings. I'm also thinking of some things to gauge infielders arms, but that needs the season complete as well. I'm interested if anyone has any ideas on how to gauge infielding arm str by available stats.

You also might need the Microsoft database drivers installed on your system. They are available here:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

They simply allow an interface with MS Office products (like the PitchFX database).

Also, I forgot to include an important .dll file in the zip, so if you've downloaded the program, you'll need to get it again and put the .dll file in the directory. Most people who have already been using the program won't need it, since they had it from before...but if you are new and just downloaded for the first time, you'll need it.

hey Bahnzo lovin the app but.... I can't pull ANY Pitchfx info... they all come back with the message " likely cause is small sample size ". Do I need to update something on my CPU?

Sorry Tofu...try the link I added to the first post with the MS database drivers. I keep forgetting people might not have everything installed on their system that I do.

Just curious (and maybe this has been answered in another post somewhere), but why does the tool stop at 1954?

I'm working on my own All Time teams roster set and this would be killer in coming up with good ratings on guys that played before then.

Otherwise, this tool has been awesome for coming up with ratings for my set. Thanks!

Lots of stats aren't available before 1954. For whatever reason, play by play data for (most) games was kept beginning 1954. So that's the reason in a nutshell.

The latest version of the PitchFX database is available. It's current thru Sept 20 and can be downloaded separately or with the program. Just unrar it and overwrite the older database.
