Since Knight is finishing up his first classic roster set and has agreed to do a 1950's -1970's set, I'd like to put my vote in for the teams for this great, glory days set. The other thread is huge and I thought it appropriate to generate a new thread for what I am sure will amount to another huge thread with tons of input and suggestions.
Anyway, here are the teams I'd love to see in the next set:
1. Arizona Diamondbacks - N/A
2. 1957 Milwaukee Braves (Aaron, Mathews, Spahn, Burdette)
3. 1966 Baltimore Orioles (close to 1970 team)
4. 1967 Boston Red Sox (Yaz, Scott, Smith, Lonborg)
5. 1969 Chicago Cubs (Williams, Banks, Santo)
6. 1964 Chicago White Sox (Ward, Skowron, Peters, Pizarro - they won 98 games)
7. 1961 Cincinnati Reds (Robinson, Pinson, Jay, Maloney - lost to Yanks in Series)
8. 1965 Cleveland Indians (Colavito, McDowell, Tiant, Wagner - solid team)
9. Colorado Rockies - N/A
10. 1968 Detroit Tigers (won the series)
11. Florida Marlins - N/A
12. 1979 Houston Astros (Cedeno, Puhl, Richard, Niekro, Forsch)
13. 1977 Kansas City Royals (Brett, Mayberry, Otis, etc)
14. 1979 California Angels (Ryan, Carew, Grich, Baylor, Downing)
15. 1977 Los Angeles Dodgers (Garvey, Cey, Russell, Lopes, Smith)
16. 1979 or 1982 Milwaukee Brewers
17. 1965 Minnesota Twins (Katt, Oliva, Killebrew)
18. 1969 New York Mets (Seaver, Jones, Agee, Koosman)
19. 1978 New York Yankees (Dent, Munson, Guidry)
20. 1973 Oakland A’s (Jackson, Blue, Hunter, Odom)
21. 1964 Philadelphia Phillies (Allen, Bunning, Callison)
22. 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates (Clemente, Mazeroski, Haddix, Virdon)
23. 1978 San Diego Padres (Winfield, Smith, Tenace, Jones, Perry)
24. 1962 (or 1967) San Francisco Giants (Mays, McCovey, Alou)
25. 1979 Seattle Mariners (doormat)
26. 1967 St. Louis Cardinals (Gibson, Cepeda, McCarver, Shannon)
27. Tampa Bay Rays - N/A
28. 1969 Washington Senators (Texas Rangers)
29. 1977 Toronto Blue Jays (doormat)

C
that's a nice list Capa but I would rather like to see more 70's teams for :
ATL- '73 had the most feared HR hitters- Johnson, Evans and Aaron all hit 40+ HRs)
PITT '75 went 92-69 (Sangullen, Stennett, Hebner, Zisk, Oliver, Parker, Dock Ellis)
I'm in with mrjordan. 1970's decade roster. Hopefully Knight would do this in the next couple of years (if not sooner). :-)[Reply]

Even though this thread is pre-mature, I would love to see the '59 Dodgers and the '59 White Sox

I think we need to find a way to clone Mr. Knight. It's become way too difficult for him to please all his classic roster fans. There's just no way around it, folks.
Seriously, though, is there a way to help or assist Knight in making his classic roster sets, much in the same way as others assisted in the making of his OS Full Minors rosters. At the very least, next year we as a group could create some base roster sets for the classics consisting of basic roster info and then let Knight do the CAPS/faces and attributes. Just setting up the basic roster info I think would help. I would think that would help Knight out, maybe enough to expand the number of classic teams and/or roster sets he could create. It's also quite possible to have to many hands in the cookie jar, so maybe Knight can shed some light here.

i know its a 50's-70's but why not have the 93' Rockies? or the original team for the Devil Rays when they first started? It would be kinda silly not to include the teams that didn't come till later. Just a thought though.

I'd be glad to do a few teams for you guys, but I don't know about a whole roster set. I'm already working on one of my on, but if Knight wanted to, I'd be glad to help out.

I did major classic sets for MVP05 which was long and tedious, but at least had a pc editor interface. That made it 10000 times easier tahn editing on the console. I don't know how Knight does it. I tried making a classic team last year and it took me an hour to update one player so I said forget it!
Knight has the gift. I wish I could assist, but I don't have the time or patience anymore.
I do think teams from the 50's and 60's belong with the teams from the 70's. Leaving out the 50's and 60's will leave out many HOFers and great teams. It also helps satisfy us "older" gamers who were born about 20 - 30 years before most of you guys. And yeah....we are out here.
