SCEA Sports - MLB Rosters>Knight - 1950's - 1970's classic set

Personally I'd rather see him do an All-Time Roster for each team. I'd enjoy that far more. There are so many legends left off when you limit each team to one season within a 20 year span. [Reply]

There is an all-time roster in the Roster Vault. Probably not as good as what Knight would come up with, but it's not bad. [Reply]

Yeah, I downloaded it. Not bad, you're right. The only problem I had with the one I downloaded was that there were no facial edits to any of the players. Just various preset faces and some facial hair on select ones. And night does amazing work with the authenticity of the appearances, and you just can't beat that. [Reply]

Hey guys....

Thanks for the kind words. I mean that. It means a lot to me that guys appreciate the sets.

As the originally posted list....there is 1-50's team.....14-60's teams......10-70's teams....1-80's team.....heck, I'd like to see a couple of more 50's teams in there!

What I could do is use the current classic set as the base....
That way I could use the Expos(some of them...unless you don't mind leaving in '81).....and the '95 Rockies and '97 Marlins can stay....and for the D-Backs and Rays...I could make two Negro League teams to fill in(either full specific teams...or All-Star teams)

At any rate......if we use capa's list to at least start with(thanks capa...NICE list!:-)) and maybe make a couple of changes that you guys want in....I would like to work off a set list right from the start.

Let's hash it out...

Thanks guys..

The following teams did not exist until after the 1970s:

Tampa Bay Rays (1998)
Florida Marlins (1993)
Arizona Diamondbacks (1998)
Colorado Rockies (1993)

These teams could be used for other historic teams; for example, say you want to do the 1961 Yankees and the 1977 Yankees. You could make one on the Yankees and another on the Rays.

And the following teams had very little time in the '50s-'70s decades:

Toronto Blue Jays (1977)
Seattle Mariners (1977) (though they do have the 1969 Pilots uniforms)

And for another team that existed only in the 70's, the Brewers. While I don't know too much about the classic teams, my suggestion would be 1975. I believe it was Yount's first full year with the team, and it was also Hank Aaron's last. They didn't win many games, but it was a good team from those date ranges. (Not nearly as good as the 1982 team, but the era is quite appropriate.) 1979 was their best season in the era, and Cecil Cooper hit the most home runs in the AL, but it's quite similar to the 1982 season you did. Well, after looking through baseball almanac, I want the '57 White Sox. It would add another '50s team, and has

Billy Pierce (7 time all-star, 20 win season in '57, made '57 all-star team)
Nellie Fox (Hall of Famer, 12 time all-star, made '57 all-star team, .317 AVG in '57, 13 Strikeouts in all of '57, 42.7 AB/K ratio for his career)
Minnie Minoso (Made '57 all-star team)
Luis Aparicio (Hall of famer)

They were 90-64 and finished second. I want this team because it has a few players that, when I look at them, really stand out for one reason or another. [Reply]

Knight,

Some other 50's teams to consider...

55 Dodgers
59 White Sox
54 Giants

A few teams I hope do not get removed...

65 Twins
67 Red Sox
67 Cards
68 Tigers
69 Mets
61 Reds
65 Indians

I don't think making an expansion team another franchise would work. You can't change the uniforms for the franchise and it would be awfully weird seeing the Yankees in Rays uniforms...at least for me. Not sure what the majority thinks.

I'd still like to see either a couple Negro League teams or a combination of All Star teams, myself. I want to see the likes of Josh Gibson, Satchel Paige and others.

I agree...1 or 2 Negro teams would be great. And maybe an all-star team of players from 1900-1940 or something? Interesting idea...

Yes...there will be at least two(one in each league) Negro league teams.
In the past...I've done all star teams of players from different teams. I was wondering if you guys just wanted it filled with particular Negro league teams instead. I like the all star teams myself.
I could even do something like that with the other two teams(the Marlins and Rockies).....great players from the past that get overlooked or something of the sort.....it could be like an ALMOST All-Star team.
