Sports Connect is in the game, and with a broadband connection it should update your rosters and the patch the 1st time you start up the game. I hope you got a nice HDtv to play this on. Its gonna blow you away after the ps2.. Enjoy.

Re: Question

I just picked up this game yesterday and downloaded the roster by logging on online. It was current through October 6th.

Question to those of you that live and die for accurate rosters (like me): How are/did you make 2-for-1 or 3-for-1 trades?? It appears everything is only 1-for-1. I also haven't found a way to just flat out release a guy ... again they make you go 1-for-1 from the Free Agent list too?? I want to get things up-to-date. Is there some kind of workaround?

You can do 2 for 1 or 3 for 1....it's just a matter of putting the players in the trade area(below the list of players) just as a 1 for 1.
The CPU is probably just not accepting the trade.
As far as releasing a player....I think if you go to the the FREE AGENT section...and then hit either the square or the circle(it doesn't say anything on screen until you hit the button...they should fix that)...it will then say "releasing this player will cause you to have to pick up his $XXXXXXXX salary, do you want to release this player to the FA list?"

The FA list pickup(unless you have an open spot...EVEN if you have a guy on the 60 day DL...also needs fixing IMO) is 1 for 1 only.
I'll check the release the player later(I'm not at my game) ...but I'm pretty sure that is the way.

Re: Question

ufer...

First...I just reread your post...
For the MOST accurate rosters...you must use CPU ROSTER CONTROL ON...then the CPU does not make any moves(only resting players for games) and YOU make all the moves for every team.

...and releasing a player is not from the FA screen but directly from the VIEW ROSTER screen and you hit the SQUARE button.

Hope this helps.

Re: Question

Thanks Knight. I will try those tips. I have to have my rosters to-the-letter or I just can't play ... it eats at me. ha. With so many guys getting released this time of year, it doesn't seem to make much sense to release them to the Free Agent list. Because if they get signed, the Free Agent List must be a 1-for-1? Make sense?
