High Heat Scores/Chit chat

Sorry our league has caused so much jealousy, but I am making a second league thread. For those of you that would like to access league info and rules, the other forum will still be used.

Well, let's use this one to post our results. I'll start.

My first game with Cowboype2000 was a great battle ending in a 5-5 tie when Cowboys internet service crapped out on him in the 7th. He got credit for the victory (one of the bad things about not using just exhibition mode). We wanted to play out the last three innings later, but I guess we'll just have to settle on league rules right now, even though I'll have to slaughter his butt in our next match up.

I had a great game with NYisles16, second game, Red Sox vs. his lowly Mets.
Things started off bad as the game froze in mid-Matsuzaka windup on the first pitch and I thought, here we go again, who will get credit for the win/loss, but it didn't record anything, so we started over again. Problem was NYisles had some kind of IM hooked up to the game, so if you guys are using extra stuff when playing, don't. That might be causing some of the lag problems????

I had a very, very, very, very comfortable 5-1 lead in the 9th, brought in Papelbon. Four runs later we were tied. Delgado hit a ball that was supposed to be up and in, which Papelbon deposited right over the plate, about 460 feet. I looked at the replay and the ball actually said "hit me 460 feet" between the stitches. I lost the game in the 10th. I could not get Papelbon to throw one stinking pitch anywhere near where I aimed. It was really frustrating, but credit to Nyisles, he had to hit him, and hit him he did. It will be closer by committee next game. Of note in this game.....not ONE bit of lag. Pure joy.

So that's two guys I've got to slaughter next time.

Re: High Heat Scores/Chit chat

There is currently a policy in this game that if you quit during the first inning of a game, that you don't lose and aren't charged with a disconn.

I would like to make a similar rule in this league that if you notice lag before THE FIRST OUT, WALK OR HIT is recorded, you should stop the game, both players restart modems and systems and try again.

Again, you can only do this before any outs have been recorded and before and hits or runs or walks.

I really don't think we need to vote on this, as I think most of you will agree, however, if you believe I need to start a poll on this, I will over at the High Heat Baseball Leagues Forum.

Re: High Heat Scores/Chit chat

Myself and randogu (volvo122) just finished our Week 2 Game there.

It finished up Diamondbacks 2 -3 Indians.

It was a great game, very close - with the Dbacks tying the game up in the 9th only for Sizemore to single home Jamey Carroll from 2nd in the bottom of the 9th. Cliff Lee had a no-hitter going through 5 innings but Justin Upton quickly stopped that in the 6th with a 1-out double.

Joe Borowski came in to pitch the 9th but was credited with a blown save when he allowed the tying run to cross the plate. Borowski ended up with the Win however as Sizemore drove home the winner on a single through the gap in right field for a 3-2 victory.
