On-line "forfeit" bug

Hoppy60 and I have been playing some exhibition games on line. Twice we've gotten a window that says YOUR OPPONENT WANTS TO FORFEIT (paraphrasing that). The option is to hit the X button. Twice I've hit the TRIANGLE button as that's the button used to go in reverse, game has crashed and the opponent was given the victory, even though trailing (that's not the important part).

Is there something we need to do, not do. Will that window just disappear after a few seconds if we don't touch anything? Obviously hitting the TRIANGLE button makes the game crash.

Any help from you vets would be appreciated.

Did this come up because he ran out of pause time?

Jim I will take a stab at this. When you say" your opponent wants to forfeit" Do you mean, " your opponent has timed out" "press X to accept" which means you win the game if you press X. If that is what you mean, do not hit anything, just let it go and it will go away after about 10 seconds. If thats not what you meant, sorry

Well, we didn't want a forfeit. We're trying to figure out why it shows that window. But, it sounds like just let it go and we'll be okay. That's good to know, thanks.

Once the 5 minutes of "pause" time expires , the opponent has the ability to hit X when promted to end the game and get the win

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that's gotta be it. I know both times we were going to the bullpen and it popped up. 9th inning, both times. So just let ten seconds go by and we can continue?

This is what happens when senior citizens get involved in this kind of stuff. I know I dozed off one time during a game, but that's a story for another time. Well, gotta take my prostate, cholesterol, blood pressure, medicine.

thanks guys.

When you pause the game there is a countdown timer that starts at 5:00. When you run out of time you are subject to forfeit.

It is a safeguard from having your opponent pause the game indefinitely causing you to quit and him getting the win.

LOL.....Thats ok Jim, not a problem. I learned this the hard way as Myself and Aukevin were playing an Exh. game and I hit X thinking that was what you had to do. I had no idea you could just wait and that screen would go away.

Re: On-line "forfeit" bug

I hate this thing because me and my friend now 3 times in a row have hit x for fastball just as that screen came up. I wish they would put an are you sure you want to forfeit.
