Questions re on line etiquette

Okay, I've had two games. The first one was a great one until I struck out the side in the top of the 10th and the guy quit. Second one was okay, but will a vet onliner answer these questions.

I play CLASSIC pitch/CLASSIC baserunning. I went to PLAY NOW and a guy jumped on immediately and I was stuck with METER pitching (really no big deal), and NEW baserunning. I was stuck at the mercy of the L/R shoulder pads as I haven't a clue how to do the NEW baserunning scheme. I lost 3-1, it was a good game.

I feel he was cheating a bit as he was quick pitching. I was not given the chance while at bat to pinch hit, nor go to my bullpen. For example I had my pitcher come up in the 8th, wanted to pinch hit, but he was quick pitching and it was 0-2 before I could get the screen to pause to go to PINCH HIT. Is there a way to stop this, or is this just the type of players you run into.

Thanks for any and all advice. Looking forward to playing some of you on line.

I wouldn't say he was cheating, more like a player with no class.

With opponents like this, I either quit in the 1st inning -or- hold R2 to slow down the speed and allow myslef a lead. I understand some people do this to counter the other classless players, the ones who steal on every pitch. The fast pitch allows them to cut the lead, therefore the steals go down.

The best bet is to find players of your caliber and style of play, build-up a buddy list and only play them and the referrals they can give you.

Thanks. Another question, shouldn't I be able to pick my mode prior to playing, i.e., classic baserunning.

Yes. When you challenge someone you first set these options. On the flipside, when you review a challenge invite, you need to review the terms before accepting.

Re: Questions re on line etiquette

Jim the best advice is to play guys from OS, especially Wheelhouse league guys. Then do as others have stated and build up a buddy list. All my games in the league have been a fun time, especially the really close ones. If the lag were better, this game would shine in the multiplayer aspect. Don't get me wrong I am enjoying the single player franchise mode, but competing against another person brings an added element.

Re: Questions re on line etiquette

Yes, agree. It's a fun experience, just got to find the right crowd. I was cussing the guy the other day as it was an obvious pinch hit situation for my pitcher in the 8th and I wasn't given time to pause the game to bring one in until it was 0-2 on my pitcher. I should have just quit, but I didn't.

Hope to see some of you on line. What are your screen names there? Appears some are different than what you use here.

thankx

Re: Questions re on line etiquette

I like to play a good "realistic" game too. Sign me in. I've only played 1 game online so far, just for the same reasons alot of people exploiting to make up for glitches or whatever. I have my certain prefernces but will play with whatever settings as long as there are no "exploits" and it's a good game.
