Newbie Online player question

I haven't really played online at all yet but my best friend who lives out in Cali is finally getting a PS3 and we wanted to do a franchise against eachother where we both draft. basically a 2 player franchise, but online. Is that possible? I am very unfamilar w/ the online features of The Show. Also, when I play him online, are we able to use the sliders I play with? The updated rosters that we worked on? would kinda suck if you couldn't somehow.

As far as I know you can't play online with any of your own created rosters. You only can use the real life rosters which are updated constantly. Right now I'm playing without A-Rod since he was injured but he just got back 2 games ago so he'll be in the next update in a few days.

you can't play vs just one person in a franchise online, can you? it has to be a league or a exhibition game?

Yeah u can only play the computer on franchise mode I believe.
