Online settings question

Pardon my ignorance...new to online play. Can any of the settings be adjusted when playing online or they are locked in for both users? For example, if I want auto fielding can I do that? Can I use Classic pitching even if opponent uses Meter? Or do the settings have to be exactly the same across the board (even camera views, etc)?

Sorry for the newbie question and thanks...

I haven't played any online games in a few days so I'm not 100% on this. But, I'm fairly certain that those settings are locked for both players. I recall playing a game with someone on my friend's list and I went into the menus to try and change something and found the menus to be either missing some options or they were ghosted out....I forget exactly.

Maybe in online leagues this is different, don't know.
