I'm undecided about the wheel...I find myself going back to the analog stick (which still feels better than the original PS3 controller's sticks). It may just be a matter of getting used to it, but it is very easy to under or over steer with the wheel. The range of motion left and right isn't very far, so there is very little difference between slightly turning the wheel and a full-on hard turn. I understand this is a function of the design, and it's not a knock, but it just feels weird. Like I said, this may just take some getting used to. I also find my finger slipping a bit during long races.

The pedals feel great, and imo are worth the price of the controller alone. The pressure on the pedal feels so much better than the plain buttons. Being able to ease into corners by slowly braking and then easing out of the corners by slowly depressing the accelerator feels great and helps maintain your racing line. So much more control than the regular controllers where it always feels like you are jamming on the brakes and flooring the gas. Also, the brake pedal is slightly smaller and it feels like it takes slightly more pressure to depress than the accelerator. I cannot say enough about how good the pressure sensitivity of both pedals feels when racing.

My only complaint so far about the pedals is how close together they are. I have big fingers and while I'm not accidentally pressing both pedals at the same time, lifting off the accelerator to the brake feels a bit awkward due to the closeness of the two pedals. I've been having to sort of roll my thumb to the left to depress the brake pedal with the side of my thumb and roll it back to the right to push down on the accelerator.

Again, I think the wheel and pedal issues may go away once I get used to the controller. Even if I just use it for the pedals, I still would feel happy with the purchase. If you have an extra $50 and don't have a way to set up a true racing wheel, I would definitely consider this controller.
Heel and toe with your thumb!

Haha. No she's not. It's Kim Kardashin (spelling) but, my wife has the same body as her and looks like her when she's all done up.

I'm not sure I can believe you since you said your wife looks like Kim Kardashian. Just kidding, I'd like to hear your impressions as a steering wheel will not fit in my current setup.

She doesn't look exactly like her. She's the same height, weight, and body measurements as her. The one difference they have is Kim has real breast.

Re: Just got my HKS Racing Controller

Using this with f1 the throttle/brake has no progressive feel at all. If i slightly hold the break ingame it goes to full pressure. Also there is a big deadzone from when it hits 100% to the end of the pressure. Am i missing something here?

Yes, I'm very curious as to what you think. A previous poster pretty much reiterated what I feel -- the steering is a tad twitchy (might take some time getting used to) but the gas/brake buttons are solid.

As for your avatar, shows you how much I know about pop culture these days. I just wish that Justin Beaver kid would go away!
